I have a stock differential, but upgraded to heavy duty halfshafts from the Driveshaftshop through PPP over the winter. Exactly! Yes - please step it up. hurry!!! Interested in sponsoring anyone? :hmm::whistle::angel: You too, huh? All the big torque cars are reporting the exact same issue. I don't think it's torque management at all. We're truly overpowering the tranny's ability to hold on. I know I was cooking the fluid based on smeell alone after my 2nd run. Great to meet you as well. Would you believe that as much as I've been to the track, yours is the first Jeep SRT-8 I've ever seen make a pass in person? I love those rear wheels BTW. We need to slap those wide boys on some LX's! And for all I've missed - thank you all for the support, encouragement, and kind words. Although my nitrous may seem simple, I actually made tons of changes to the car over the winter, and but in hundreds of hours of labor, just to get to this point. It probably took me 400 hours of labor to get it all right. Lots more testing than people would ever believe. My words of caution are that I didn't just slap a bunch of nitrous on a car and go racing. The involvment behind the scenes was 98% of the work. Thanks again to everyone!
We decided to look into the NAG transmissions a while back, but there seemed to be very few failures, if at all, and no one racing them seemed to have any problems until now. Last week when we were ordering Alto red clutches and Kolene steels for the RFE545 truck transmission's, we inquired about clutch packs for the NAG as well. We will look into adding more clutches and steels into the NAG as well as looking into the valve body for faster shift times. We should be able to increase line pressure the same way we do to the trucks. With our modified valve body in the trucks that are running out there now, most have picked up anywhere's from .05 to .17 tenths in their short times depending on what gear they're running. Looks like Denny and I will be doing a little more home work this week.
Way to go JMatt. Congrats not only on the time but on the confirmed performance of your coilovers too. The car launches great and looks badass with those skinnies on the front.
SUH-WEET! Andy was calling me all day yesterday on the times! I was anxious to pick up the phone every time! Kudos JMatt!!! This rocks!!! Chase
Actuall I think I will call you about those shocks. I am sure the price will stay $1 more than I can afford. I just looked at your time slip bro and I noticed that you did your run on March 23, 2008. My timeslip says that I did it on March 22nd. Very interesting and a serious dilemma.
You know the strange thing....JMatt correct me if I am wrong here... JMatt is running a basically stock block, only exterrnal mods. It didn't take a bored/stroked forged lower end, a wilder cam, ported heads and/or intake. He has DynaTech headers/exhaust, CAI, Predator tune and 3 stage nitrous (the main drag strip clock killer). Uh yea....I forgot to mention that the thing that probaby helped lot in getting him from the 11's to the 10's.... was a very well tuned suspension (he has a vey wicked, newly developed, coil over suspension system). It was just "tuned" (It has compression and rebound adjustments) a before he went to Englishtown. Suspension setup/tuning is often overlooked in our endevaor for better times at the track. A properly setup suspension could be worth an avg of .5 seconds or more. I bet a lot members have custom coil-overs that have compression and/or rebound settings that have never been toouched.
OMG That's hysterical! Looks like Chad is the official winner then. :yahoo: Post was on March 22nd, timeslip says March 23rd. Hahaha!
Crap, Thats weird, just found a post of my slip by Flybyu and mine says March 23 also. Why!!! Why!!! God. Sorry to stir things up. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z155/srt-hardware/300 photos/Chads10.jpg
You guys gotta be kidding me. This is some serious Twilight Zone shit. Well, look at it this way. Now you guys can brag that you're the first LX's into the 10's to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. He would be proud.
Leap year. Apparently they haven't invented a track operator who can adjust their clocks. Last week in Cincinatti my timeslip was off by one day as well. Very creative attempt though Chad - gotta hand it to you! LOL
Ahhh... A wise woman, your mom. The difference between you and I, is you still need to ATTEMPT to set the record. Bwaaaaaa hahahahahahahahaha!!!! (all in good fun Chad. You know I give you as much praise for what you've already accomplished as anyone. Cheers!)
In drag racing, I would trade "Fastest LX" for "First LX in the 10's" any day. But..... to have both in one day is sort of cool.
LX's in the 10's, congrat's on the awesome runs. Can't wait to see how the signatures begin to change showing more and more LX's in the 10's. Now, with the added weight of roll cages, where will this take us?
Thanks Mike - and thanks for the call! Nice runs yourself today. I ended up with a 11.06 today before the tranny quit working again.
