anybody running one yet? i was told the stock pcv valve (check valve), was a stock boost leak spot on the NSRT? think its gonna be the same on the CSRT? dudes@Bwoody- mind filling us in?
Dodge screwed us on the CSRT, the tubing size they used for the PCV is freakin huge! I would like to see what you guys come up!
It actually fits and actually very well here's the picture of it installed: The PCV inlet is 1/2" but the hose is 7/16" our checkvalve measures .412 at the barb so its only .025" smaller but the hose is extremely soft with a few zip-tyes the install was a great sucess, also while we had the PCV out we tested it our's leaked at 12 PSI, our checkvalve is rated at 50 PSI. ____________________________________________________________________
mmm honestly guys I don't like that. I'm going to see if I can find some vac fittings to run the proper size hose for the CV. I just don't forsee that set-up staying leak free for long.
zip ties and clamps are never going to loosen up, so theres really no way that it could ever leak. i think i am in need of a check valve for my SRT or something, when at WOT full boost it flutters around and shit, i cant stand it.
*sigh* Yes worm clamps and zip ties loosen over time. Heat and oil exposure are not friendly to either. Why else are boost leak checks performed?
Why else are zip-tyes used on vacume lines? Im not gonna argue here with you, our car was boost leak tested at 30 psi last night and NO leaks, I'll check it again every few weeks and let you all know our progress. As soon as we get a 1/2 inch checkvalve i'll let everyone know but for right now this is our only alternative.
Now thats the info I'm looking for there! And not to argue, but I have blown many a zip tied vac line on the NSRT. The TB lines being the main culprits, once oil vapors make a nice film zip ties can only do so much. Believe me I am not bashing you guys in any way, I would just perfer a larger CV for much tighter fitment. When do you think you will be able to get ahold of a 1/2 CV?
And im running 32 lbs of boost on my NSRT-4 did a vacume line retoute 2 years ago and the zip-tyes are still holding, use better zip-tyes, and get them tight if your having problems with the vacume lines blowing off. And a decent catch can takes care of the oil vapors in the vacume lines. We have to have another injection mold made to make them 1/2" it could take 4-6 weeks.
ill wait 4-6 weeks for a proper fit. make them and they will buy! i still cant believe SRT wouldve put a CV in that only held 12 psi knowing everyones gonna the psi.
