its a form of birth control..... http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/intrauterine-device-iud-for-birth-control
LOL!! I was just kidding...but really, never gave THAT any thought!! Woohoo. Looks like the 'newer' models are smaller and easier to place and remove.
iud's have been around since the 60's. they aren't the answer to everything. they're better than they used to be, but in no way shape or form are they fool proof or 100% effective like a vistectomy or tubal ligation is. the best part is as much as doctors want to tell you it's not true, no one has a freaking clue how or why iud's actually work. does it irritate the uterine lining making it inhospitable to a fertalized zygote? (i'm surprised the right-to-life camp hasn't latched onto that one). does it prevent ovulation due to the uterus thinking that a fetus is already implanted? no one really knows......
Ok...I can't believe I'm going to say this... Hemisfear...it IS the responsible thing to do as a man in the relationship. It is no big deal at all. I did it about 6 years ago. I took both Valum they supplied in the pre-meeting...good stuff which made the pain bearable. I'm not going to say it didn't hurt, but it was bearable. But, seeing my wife go through the pain of childbirth, it was the responsible thing to do. My wife had back surgery about 1 year after our first child. Then, we planned on #2. However, pregnancy #2 was pretty tough on her due to the weak back. During that pregnancy, they (OBGYN and the orthopedic surgeon) told us we probably shouldn't have any more kids. Actually, this matched our wishes as well. We didn't want the little people to outnumber us. So, we made an agreement. If they had to do a C-section, then she'd have her tubes tied. But, if it was normal child birth, then I'd step up. Well, it was normal child birth, and I lived up to my commitment. Besides, now when my wife wears her bikini...there are no scars...and I think she appreciates that as well. Now, I disagree with the two guys above they said they rode their Harley or were very active the next day. I was OK w/o problems as well. However, I don't think it is worth getting elephantitis over being too quick to go back into normal daily life. I got several of my favorite car magazines and about 10 movies. I parked my ass in the recliner all weekend to make 100% sure. And, I even used ice the first day. Could I have done other stuff, probably? Was I in pain, no? But, I didn't want to risk it. Does it make me a weakling, maybe? But, when my "boys" are at risk, I'm taking all of the proper precautions. Anywho, just wanted to give you some encouragement. It really is the responsible thing to do...take it from someone who's been there. Oh, and there is one HUGE benefit. The "intimate relationship" with my wife greatly improved after I had the procedure done. There is just something about not having to worry about birth control that makes our intimacy so much more enjoyable...for both of us. Keith
youre prob still working off old data from the generation 1 IUDs. the new models have been out now for a bit longer than 12 years. the WHO found there to be a 0.18 chance of failure. compare that to the 2% failure rate of tubal ligation. compare that to the almost 15% failure rate of snip snip. yes, we men can grow our shit back in place and still have babies. its the natural thing for men to do is breed. our bodies do whatever they can to achieve this goal. as for how it works, doctors know exactly what it does.... "The presence of a device in the uterus prompts the release of leukocytes and prostaglandins by the endometrium. These substances are hostile to both sperm and eggs; the presence of copper increases this spermicidal effect." if youre looking for real world examples, look no further than china. its now being used solely where sterilization was the previously approved method.
I always wondered how the hell they come up with this stuff..... "Excuse me ma'am, we are going to stick this copper tube up your who-who and ...... well.... see what happens!" :dunno2: :happy:opcorn:
Hey! What can I say? Its a very comfortable Harley! Mine was just like yours, Valium and outpatient. No gauze, just frozen peas that day. Felt good enough to go on a planned ride the following day, so I went. I dont consider you a weakling and you are correct about the huge benefit. That said, it should be totally his decision cause it could be permanent. Unfortunately, marriage isn't anymore. Amy- I feel that the responsibility is not based on whether you are a man or a woman. It is the individuals decision on what they do to their own body. Some might feel 11's are too fast for women...not me, nice times girl!
Brian, that looks like the woman who gave me my last haircut lol...and she was real good too! Well, you saw it. hehehehe.
I haven't read anything but the title of this thread, and all I have to say is that the fewer Canadians that there are, the better off the world is.
Boy Milan, this thread has gotten frickin hilarious, this stuff is great!! Lol! Tried it, boy did I try it, she just wouldn't go for it all the time dammit!! This is frickin hilarious Chase, LMAO!!!!! LMFAO!!!!! That's just mean man! Lol!! I was wondering when one of the EQ was gonna pipe in and this is the exact responce I expected ... nice Jason (and btw, I AGREE!! HAHAHA!!) Milan bro, don't believe the horror stories about getting it done, it's not like that at all. Read my pm again, it was that simple and easy. I'm not for it or against it, I just think the facts should speak for themselves and not get twisted to support someone's claims is all. Bottom line again bro, it's your decision.
No matter how comfortable the Harley is...the engine idles pretty rough...and your boys would be right on top...you are a bigger man than me. :stretcher: I feel my marriage is permanent...so it really wasn't MY choice...it was a decision we made together... Keith
There is one other method...wear one of these...and then they will eventually just fall off. Keith Oh...and the picture may not be work safe for some...open at your own risk...
IUD's are great for men hung like a Buck Humming bird...My ex wife had one and I knocked into her spleen one Saturday night ....:bag: I have practiced the pull out method for 30 years and no problems and trust me I am a Whore.....eh was a Whore :harhar:
