At the Spring Festival I had some discussions with a few folks about why it seems that my rear KW variant shocks are NOT as "slammed" as a few others with KW variant 1's. Upon inspection on a lift with Mol and SDCarguy we noticed that there was only one thread distance available for lowering the car. Does anyone know if there is any difference between the two variants WRT ride height? Also, would it make a noticeable difference adjusting the last visible thread? I think I may have just gotten a crappy set!
Don't some people use the camber kits to really get their car low? Eibach and KW have these I believe.
I haven't looked into it but I may have to. I just can figure out why mine look like I have a four wheel drive (Thanks MOL/Ralph...A-Hole! hehe). I wondering if that one (1) visible thread with the tire off is all the remaining threads? I wish I would have asked GSM when they intalled it how much they lowered it. I'm tempted to call to see if the guy who installed them remembers.
hell next to mine it still looks lifted but sitting next to legmakers mines higher but im on 22s as well...i dont think i would go lower and be happy driving everyday on 22s
Even when you had 20's on it, it still looked a lot lower than mine. Hmmm??? It's really fucking pissing me off!!!!
hahahahahaha........ rick, are you still having issues after the "finger" test from friday night???? hahahahahahahaha i never really thought my car was that low, but after seeing many of the cars that were on coilovers, NOT BAGS!!!, my car looked friggin LOOOOOW!!!! maybe i have a freak set of kw v1's?????
Ricky, Don't worry bro! Only about 10 people went by your car and said, "I DIDN"T KNOW THEY MADE A 4X4 CHARGER"!
i thought we already had a thread like this one around. i believe we found that the v1s sat the car a bit more than half an inch closer to the ground than the v2s. v1 almost slammed in the front, not in the back, i wanted a bit of a raked look.
Shit. I was kind of hoping to keep my ride as close to stock height as possible but was willing to drop it 1/2 inch and no more. Didn't realize there was a diff b/w the V1's and V2's in this regard.
Dammit Momo, we hammered on you for weeks to get out there and measure Rick's suspension. Remember? If you'd done something back then he could have avoided this very embarrassing situation. 4 wheel drive... buwahahahaha. Didn't anyone install their shocks themselves? Maybe there is a bit of a "collar". The threads start inside a bit and you've got more than 1 turn left?
Chris, YOUR car is how I want mine... Rick's is a bit too high... not alot, but just enough to be really noticeable. If not 4x4, it looks closer to stock than I originally thought. Measure it?!?! I don't recall that... however, how should it be measured to gauge how low it went?!?!
Ummm, I think maybe 7 to 10 prominent requests in the middle of YOUR threads. And it was prompted from either your or Ryan's thread on springs/coilovers. Netnathan posted those links to those most informative articles on springs, loading, rates, relationship with shocks, etc. We needed to know shock travel lock to lock, number of coils, space between coils loaded and unloaded, amount of shock compression at static ride height. A few simple measurements you could have gathered between diaper changes. We have the spring rate so you didn't even need to look that one up. We asked, begged, pleaded, shamed, and threatened. All to no avail...
I will post some pics tonight, I think Chris' car is the only one that is close to being as low as mine w the Eibach's.
Oh! That was Ryan's thread that everyone put alot of work into and he did nothing with. I wouldn't know what to do/how to actually measure those things... then again, I'm getting the v1's, so it won't effect me much.
