    Ok,

So I installed the BT Catch Can prior to leaving for the Spring Festival of LX's last week to see how well this item works.

Now remember, I did not think my engine was caught up in the oil blow by issues because I have never seen the build up of oil everytime my Intake was off (5 times).

Well, I stand corrected. lol In 900 miles of driving, I checked the Catch can and found 2 ounces of oil in the bottom. YIKES!!!
This is a MUST buy for everyone IMO.

Thank you Heidi and Dan for creating and selling GREAT products.

You do know its a catch can newbie ritual to drink the 2oz that you found in there, its paying tribute to the catch can gods, kinda like the kid on Red Dawn who has to drink the deer blood on his first kill

Definitely a great product for our cars. Has anyone with the catch can installed noticed if "harsh" driving increases the amount in the can? Mine seems to stay about the same level... even though I NEVER drive my car hard! Lol!

Yea, and then you got to get the car out of the trailer, and drive it somewhere to get it put on, and wait for it, and drive it back, and probably wash it, and then load it back in the trailer. These things ain't easy.

I would say yes it collects more oil when driven hard. The harder you drive the more the oil mists in your cranck case at higher rpms.

I was thinking about that and I was guessing it's maybe?

Heat. Does oil vaporize to some extent as it gets hotter or do you have to get all the way to the boiling point to vaporize the oil itself? I was thinking maybe that's going to be a really small factor. Since it gets up to the higher temps (maybe the highest) in normal stop and go driving it might even be less when driven hard IF heat is a factor.

Blow by. Certainly greater under greater loads but I don't think this is a factor at all. The blow by is almost all gasses and particulates. Also it's not like a great wind blowing through the crank case when you floor it. The PCV valve regulates flow. So as long as you have vacuum the flow is going to be fairly constant with high or lower vacuum. Then there is the fact that you are operating (naturally aspirated) at the lowest vacuum with your foot on the floor.

WOT fuel. now this could contribute. With the added fuel at open loop WOT some of it isn't burned and would be included in the blow by?

Misting. I agree this should be far and away the largest contributer. But wouldn't this only be effected by RPM and not how far you have the gas pedal mashed? I guess it makes sense that with easy driving you're hanging around under 3K most all of the time and hard driving you're running it up to the shift point.
