In about a month, I will be getting the 315/275 setup in Toyo for the Jeep. And the Vreddy 295/265 setup for the Charger. Nice choice Wade. And what did it for me is the pics of 6.1Luvr's rig!!! Chase
Just ordered the 275/315 combo Michelin Latitude Tour HP from Tirerack at $1146 +shipping, duties and taxes =$1534. Will report on track times in about a month if all the snow we got ever melts, we're expecting another 12" of snow this saturday
Michelins!! All the time!!!! I have no problem at the track and run 7.9 at Irwindale with no tire spin....even ran 11.9 with a proper launch and no wheel spin. This is the original BMW MSeries X5 tire. My 06 Jeep with Michelins..
Hey Tex - sorry, not too much posting these days with two full time jobs and the infant and wife at home. . . the bad luck partially continues my friend, as my left HID low beam blew yesterday and my cracked B&B gets louder by the day But, the good news is that a lightly used Borla S will be in my hands as of Tuesday and as soon as I get a second, the new exhaust, steering wheel, GS6 pads and drilled / slotted rotors will be going on the beast (and I haven't scratched up the newly refurbished wheels yet:clapping . .then more pics to come! Here's a quick cell phone shot from the rear of the 315 set-up, different angles available if you guys want 'em: and a quarter shot of the 275: Steve
Sweet Doc, for those of you who do not know Doc he has had more bad luck with his SRT Jeep than anyone I know but he keeps at it, props to man!!!
thanks Tex, I like to think my luck is a little better than those poor few who have blown trannies and real motor problems, but it does get frustrating. . . I still love the Jeep though, it's not her fault!!! Steve
Looks like I did something a little different, but thought I would post for those who are getting tires in the future. These are 295/265 Hankooks. I have not been to the track but they seem fine for launching on the street. Smooth ride and no more tracking. One day can be very nice and the next snow packed here in Colorado, so this is why I decided to give these a try.....
Those work as well I'm just not a fan of the big sidewall and was it your or someone else that complained about loss of acceleration with this setup??? Still look great on your ride
Right on Sarge! Stock gears being 3.73, the 315/35 lower height tire will act as if the GC had 3.78 gears The 295/45 tires will act as 3.55 gears
Well, I really didn't complain, but you are correct....I did notice a loss of acceleration. Thanks, I like the look and the beast just keeps turning heads!!!!!!
I still want to take mine somewhere that does roadforce balancing problem is knowing who has the machine
Yeah this tire thing is giving me a headache. I thought I was set on the toyo's but then I heard about the Michelin Latitudes. I just want the ones that hook best at the track. I guess the best thing to do is wait for some of y'all to go to the track and report back.
I did this past weekend they were great even in the 2WD mode no slip they hooked and I went and that was going thru the water and no burn out. I was getting 1.8's in the 60' with these tires. I has been raining here since last nite several inches of water and I've never felt more confident with any tires than these I have yet to slide, hydroplane or lose traction today.
Thanks Chase, I love my Toyos. Wade, I also got them Road Forced balanced and the ride is smooooooooooth. [/IMG]
With what size tires? The 315/275 combo should actually accelerate the same if not a tad quicker since they are shorter than stock giving the same effect as shorter gears.
