So, Ron and I pulled into our driveway this morning at 4:30. The trip was, ummm.... somewhat uneventfull..... We left SoCal yesterday afternoon at about 2:30-3:00 figuring that we would have the normal 10 1/2 hour drive. Nothing major going on... no heavy traffic, we were doing pretty well. Then, about a half hour into our drive, all of the sudden, Ron starts yelling and cussing at some guy in a Suburu.... (like the guy is going to hear him!!! :imao This guy is weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, you name it. He gets up closer to me and Ron, and Ron guns it. The guy doesn't let up! He's still weaving in and out, finally... they get out of traffic, Ron... rolls the window down yelling at the guy, flipping him off and letting him know in no uncertian terms what he really thinks of him gets the thumbs up from the guy in the Suburu! Turns out, he just wanted to play! Hahahahaaa! After that, all was well for the trip. Up until we got into Arizona. One of the highway information signs said that Interstate 40 was closed west of Kingman and to take 93 South.... We stopped at a truck stop for gas and the girl at the counter told us that there was a multi car accident that shut the freeway down and that if we were on our way to Flagstaff to just take highway 66 and that would take us around the accident and straight into Flagstaff. Well, we didn't. We took the 93 instead. Which come to find out, had us about 50 miles north of Phoenix by the time we could get onto I-17! Not to mention the rain that we hit!! Oh well!!! Turns out that the 40 was closed because of a 50 car accident due to blizzard like conditions! Kind of glad now that Ron decided not to take the 66!! But, after the 2 hour detour and we were back on track, it was all smooth sailing!
Wow! Glad you guys got home safe. The only thing of interest on my trip was getting a tumbleweed caught in the car's "teeth" (lower fascia).
Good to see you guys made it safely. The ride home is usually never as much fun as the ride to somewhere you know is going to be a blast.
i love the ride home. makes me think of sleepin in my own bed after a long haul. i dont even want to ask if you guys had a sore seat when you got home, im pretty sure ron would have one no matter how long the trip back from socal was. :bigwink:
you know...im not really sure what "the bathroom incident" was...but this keeps being brought up...and im not really sure i wanna know at this point hahahahaha
Jason explained what happened in his SF highlights thread!..... Ron told me about it and I was just in shock!!! Ron said that there may have been pics on a cell phone... I just do NOT want to see them surface!!! :imao:
lol Ok, so after I realized that the guy in the Subaru only wanted to play, I had to apologize to him at 110. lol The did the thumbs up again and we were off. Yea, I was a bit red in the face. haha Highway 93 actually took us 28 miles north of Phoenix, 200+ miles out of the fricken way. Errrrrrrrrrrrrr The news is now saying that it was a 150 car pile up. WTF? I know people can not drive well in the snow, fog, and ice, but 150 cars? Jesus!!!! As for the bathroom thing. bwaghahahahaha You guys needed to see the face on the two hotel employees that were washing their hands. lol Classic. They ran fast than Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. hahahahaha
Mom's working at Allstate now, taking claims, and there's been giant pile ups just about every week the past few months. Its like no one remembers how to drive in winter weather. Good news is, Mom gets overtime pay when it happens. Bad news is, she gets to take all the calls.
Rain, snow, ice, and fog... SOUNDS LIKE MY DAILY COMMUTE TO WORK IN THE WINTER!!!!!!!... jeeze you warm weather peeps cant handle winter weather hahahahaha
