Today I was at the track and on one of my runs I went to WOT from 3rd to 4th and couldnt get it in gear. Now that I got it home I tried to get it any gear with the clutch pressed down and nothing but if I shut off the car and put it in gear then start it, it takes off. Once I get it moving I can shift from 1st to 3rd and 5th without using the clutch. If I come to a stop I have to shut the car off put it in gear and start over again. Is it the input shaft or something else??
Almost sounds like you blew a syncro. With the car running on a flat surface, in neutral with the clutch out. Gently try and push it into gear, don't put it in gear just push up against the gate. If you feel the car starting to try and move forward you are good. If it grinds or makes a horrible sound then you probably blew a syncro or jacked up one of the forks.
Yeah if its running in neutral and try and push it in gear the car does move. Then i push in the clutch and try and put it in gear and it does the same thing but wont go in.
Cuz i was able to drive it home rpm shifting not using the clutch and it would go into 1st 3rd and 5th but would not go into 2nd or 4th.
yep but u should be able to get it in 2 and 4 also the rpm needs to be real close and ease it into gear or your pivot fork is done what u need to do is there is a cover near the slave its about 3" wide and 1" tall and its black and plastic and look inside and have someone push in the clutch and see what happens
Ok i will do that first thing in the morning..... black plastic is on the tranny? Sorry im an electronics guy not mechanical. lol
yea its right near the slave cly get a flashlight to look and it will be easer to do it from the bottom of the car also
it might be a little bit moor than a master or slave.. if 2 and 4 are on the same spline it may be a sync..... I hope that it's a master or slave a lot less money.....
check the bushing that connects the pedal to the slave cyl. its up under the dash where the linkage goes through the firewall. i think i've broken 3 of those now.
yah after thinking about it. it doesnt sound like the slave or master because the clutch would most likely be sitting on the floor if it were one of those.
did you check the line from the slave to the tranny? is it leaking anywhere? its possible you broke the throw out fork.
