1969 Honda CB350 It is my first bike, the price was right (almost completely free) Needs a complete restore. but will end up like this when I am done I have failed to complete any real project lately because I have become jaded by it all before I even get half way through it. I have a feeling I will go the whole 9 on this one though. :towel:
Wishing you all the best... bikes are tough. I had an Indian Scout basket case in college (went almost a whole year working on it in the kitchen in our apartment...). Finally gave up and sold it to the new Indian dealer to put in the store window. (yea, I had some misgivings about it being in the window of some place selling little dirt bikes but heh, I was in college and it was cold hard cash :unsure
Have fun with it,and plan as much of it out as possible before you start,that will help with the mid project blues.
Yeah my problem was I was trying to change up with new projects. my 1994 Honda Civic was to be a road course car (but my heart is really with drag racing plus I would rather play with the neon) then there was my Festiva Shogun project, the level of fab work I was planning to do with it was 1 out of my capabilies, 2 was going to nickle and dime me to death, 3 the end product would not have yielded me much. so yeah, first step is the freshin up the motor get it back to running 100%, learn how to ride a god damn bike (cause my retarded ass has yet to learn how) then strip it down and get everything cleaned up. Parts are cheap enough (found a new motor and transmission for 200 bucks) so not much holding me back on this kind of project.
good luck with the project chris...... i know when i got my harley, it was a bit rough, but as erik said, i had a plan and pretty much stuck to it!!! always gave me something to keep my mind sharp for the short term goals so i did not lose focus on the long term outcome!!!
Picked it up today! Needless to say its not in great shape but in MUCH better shape than it is in the picture, motor turns freely, looks like the only real problem with it is well rot to all the cables and wires (to be expected) Little rust. I will post good pics as I start tearing it down.
My very first street bike was a CL 350. Man I've been through those motors so many times, I could still do one blind folded. Good luck with your project. I have an absolutely bone stock 76 XL175 that was given to me in a box. I bought all the missing parts except for the damn seals.................can't get them anymore. And they are tabbed, so the only way to make an aftermarket seal work is to weld up the cases.

Congrats, that'll be a fun project, good luck its not that hard to learn just trial and error :grin: I wish i could still ride. I had to give up my bike after my hand got screwed up. I use to cruse around on a Triumph Sprint RS 955i
I have almost completely stripped the bike. junk wiring is out, swing arm rear tire the entire brake system (except for the front hub) has been removed. Motor comes out tonight or tomorrow, so does the forks. I will take pics! for the update! Now its time to find me some tubing to make my exhaust, tear down of the motor to clean it up, carbs, and hoping next week or so to get the arrangements set for paint. Going old school on this frame and tank satin black, tank will have a satin white skull with kyser helmet. Rims will be red with white spokes Forks will be chrome with low handlebars Needless to say I am excited.
