I've had my car for almost 2 years and I never knew the factory security system beeps the horn. I always thought it was just a led and starter disable. Well, I'm in the car trying to figure out why my led map lights glow real dimly after the interior lights have gone off so I use the key fob to lock the doors. Then I just opened the driver's door to get out. Alarm goes off and the HORN IS BEEPING! I'll be damned.

Did your dash indicate that a theft had been attempted?

hmmm, didn't look. Naturally it's pitch dark outside so I just hit the unlock button to turn it off before the neighbors got pissed.

No chance. That's why I got the Clifford with the 1 mile 2-way pager and the gps unit that will txt msg me. When I first had that installed it was going off once a night between 2 and 5am until we found the problem... no cops. No one complained either.

Yeah, it was the same with my Durango and my Toyota 4runner which was a '98 model. This your first new car in a while, Dave?
