The tip of the Dynaplug is different (the brass part), but the part that does the work is just a regular tar plug. The installation tool is similar to the cheap thread the needle ones, expect that its a tube and the plug goes down the shaft. That's why I said the installation is different, but the part that does the work is essentially the same.
It seems to be a different material which their literature (convincingly) says makes all the difference. The idea is that most nails don't cut many/any cords on the way in or out. Not so much for screws, but it makes sense that rasping the hole has a good chance of cutting some or more. From the Repair Guide section on their site: I believed it. You can also use multiple plugs in the same hole. The tip and insertion method is way better. I've used a lot of both. The brass tip butts up to the tube perfectly so it's just like shoving an ice pick into the hole. Very easy and it follows the angle of the hole. The tip catches on the inside and the tube slides right out. With the needle ones I always wonder if it released correctly or pulled the plug part way back out.

Thanks Brudda... been done a while, took me about a week. Never thought I would say I have too much bass.... guess I'm getting too old...Lol! I put the LPL controll in the ash tray and I keep it turned down all the way most of the time.
I hear that, seems I'm always turning down the bass these days, I never used to do that. You'd think as we get older and our hearing gets worse we'd turn up the music, lol!!
I used to compete in the IASCA SPL+ series and I could never get enough Bass... I've always been into the sound quality, just now... don't like to "feel" it as much and I like my rearview mirror to stay in one place. Lol...
Mine also came with a cargo net for the trunk. You ca see part of it in the small pocket in the lower left. I never could use it cause the Kicker sub blocked the lower mounting point on the left. Now that I got rid of the factory sub, I use the net all the time.
