Actually, gentlemen (and ladies), it thinked it fluffed her feathers and made her a tiny bit proud of our car. She actually joined in post-race conversation with two different friends of ours. "Yeah, he thought he'd beat us bad" type of stuff.

Dave, I just re-goggled it... the wheels in the pic I posted are Gallardo according to RSsportscars.com, and they're the same ones on the Lambo I raced. They both look ALOT alike to me. One (Murcielago) just has like 60 more HP.

Markus, I don't know what it is about me, my car or whatever, but I've gotten into it ALOT on the street. I'm estimating somewhere between 11-12 races since owning the car (my WIFE's two races are included in that total... she beat 'some Mercedes' twice one day with my mother in the car with her (that's counts as one race) and the day we got the Charger, on her first drive, she blew the doors off a 2005/06 Mustang GT that got froggy with us). I've beateb:

Numerous mustangs, a Terminator Cobra, earlier model M5 a 6 series coupe and a 335 - the new turbo bmw, Porsche 911 GT3 (short distance race), that Porsche Boxster S, my neighbors Evo... I'm proud to say that of the 'impromptu' street races (with strangers) that Lambo was my first loss. Rick's gotten me a couple times and I think I've gotten him.. don't remember, our races have been 'test' races for the most part.

    Ryan's had a couple races I believe.

    Rick has a couple also.

Drew, he's been busy out there too.

    Thanks big man!

I think I saw that same Lambo yesterday.....

I was turning off the 'proving grounds' and saw him fly by.

You know what's really impressive about all this Jason is that those Lambo's are AWD. For you to launch from a stop and keep up with him like that is very, very impressive bro. Those AWD cars like the Jeeps and Porsche Turbos just ROCKET off the line and leave regular cars in the dust. I'm quite impressed bro, you REALLY know how to drive your car and that's the imporant thing. ANYONE can own a fast car but not anyone can DRIVE it! CONGRATS!!!!! :thumb2:

Now, go get some juice or that i-charger or something and find that Lambo again, I see Jeff's post, that Lambo's still around there ... GET HIM!!! :ninja: Heck, if you really want to put the fear of God in him bring the rest of the EQ with you too, lol!!

Well, Here's where my approval rating goes straight down the porcelin fixture.....

But, in order to satisfy those asswipes who are (even now silently) calling me out because I didn't come down on street racing here like I did on the VTCOA..... Let me just say this once...... ( I really don't wanna do this....shit)....

As an ex-cop and someone who's had a family member killed as a result of street racing, I must go on record saying that street racing is both illegal and dangerous.

Having said that, I realize that some folks are gonna be pissed off at me.... Sorry.

I'm not trying to spoil anyone's fun or point fingers..... AT ALL.

I've just had this come too close to home and seen too many mangled bodies to just sit here and say nothing......

I love you all........... I want you to live a long time...and in one piece....

    Don't be hatin', now.......

    Peace, out.......

    D

I agree with Markus, no hatin here bro, feel free to say what you want. I'm not a fan of street racing either but I have a different definition of it I guess. When I think of street racing I think of "Fast and Furious" type of thing where a group of "racers" go out late at night and race on the streets for money (or not). THAT kind of thing I frown upon like you, bad things always seem to happen.

BUT, what Jason did is more along the lines of a "Stop Light Grand Prix" thing and that I don't frown upon at all. I'll keep it to the expressways with their wide center dividers, higher speed limits, wider lanes and longer distances between lights, as well as make sure traffic is light or nonexistent but I'll do it and not think twice about it. A quick 0-60+ run when you're the first at the light and you have a clear 1/4 mile of road up to the next light with no other cars around, I don't see anything wrong with that and that's how I see Jason's thing and to stick with a Lambo like he did he'll get a :thumb2: from me!!

Ryan has seen him in the county before... but this is the 1st (your's being the second) sighting of it in Eastlake. He likely lives in "The Woods" those 100% custom-built, 5000+ sq.ft. homes overlooking the lake, mesa and/or mountains. *for those who don't know... they're incredible homes. Spectacular. They did a "Tour de Elegance" there 4 years back... one home had a study with LEATHER FLOORS. Literally the California dream homes.

You know, I thought they were AWD. My neighbor has an Evo, and he can launch it... 5000 rpms and lift the clutch baby... no tire squeel... and I beat him off the line - through a quick race too. As far as me being a good launcher, I guess I am, but I'm not that consistent. I'll go out and pull a mid- 4 sec. 0-60, then 2 minutes later, I'll dog a 5.2 0-60.

I got lucky against the Lambo, and got one of my best launches ever... maybe he didn't know how to launch his car 'just right', but it didn't and doesn't matter. While I lost, I definately showed (and shut him) up.

No offense taken, you're respected here. Please see my further explanation below.

What I did wasn't right. I'll readily admit that. Street racing is bad news... more so if you're nuts and/or take no precautions. With that in mind, and what was said above, I'll never street RACE (with traffic, on side streets, of go over 70-80 mph, etc. etc. etc.). One thing to take into consideration, I suppose, is that in SOCAL, traffic flows at 65+ mph on any road with a 50+ mph limit. So, even though I took off fast, by the time I shut down, and came to rest at the next red light, what little traffic there was (like 3 other cars) had already practically caught up. Even the Porsche who quit after like 2 seconds.

Am I justifying my actions? Kind of, sort of... more so, what I'm getting at is that my 'race' was basically a 0-70 mph quick launch and not the typical swerving, 100+ mph in a neighborhood/crowded area freak fest.

That is the sweet part about it, Steve!!!

Bump! Jason, did you see Top Gear Monday? First new episode of the year. The 3 stooges each picked a car to take out across Europe looking for great driving roads (it was actually pretty good). What I found interesting was a point where the 3 of them were cruising down some hwy (didn't say how fast they were going) lined up in a row and they take off. Clarkson, who picked a Gallardo superleggara (of course) and Hammond, who picked a 911 GT3 RS were dead even, or pretty close to it. They left Mays in the dust in his Aston but I found it very interesting a 415 horse GT3 could keep even with a 520 horse awd Gallardo from say 50-100mph (my guess). Hammond even says both cars were about even. See, those Lambos ain't all that!! So have you seen that guy around anymore? And you're first in line for an I-Charger right??

Hey Jason thanks for correcting me on the Lambo I was wondering about it. And Rick says you don't know shit, HA!! Showed him!

Also no worries here Timmy everyone is entitled to an opinion on anything. While yours may not have been the popular one on this subject it was well presented and that goes along way! All good dude.

Still good race Jason I wish I could have seen the look on his face. I also share Markus's annoyance with never getting any races. While I get some my best friend raced a viper like 2 days after I first got my supercharger and my other buddy raced a Astro Martin when he took her to the store one day!! WTF!?!?

This outcome is pretty much dead on. I race a gallardo from a 100-150 and he only pulled 2 cars by end. I was impressed with the outcome because I had a passenger too. He was solo.
