Hello, I have a weird request: :naww: I bought my 300c SRT8 used with 20k miles, there seems to be missing something from the spare tire area. If possible can someone post a pic? Or maybe list the contents? I have the air pump on the top left but that's about it; in the bottom left area it's empty and the round area in the middle is also empty except for a bracket that's just laying there. When I get a chance I'll go to the dealer and find out from another vehicle but since I'm stuck at work right now it would be nice :dribble:
Sounds like the only thing missing is a fix a flat :thumb3: And that would be a great spot to install an amp, being right next to the battery would make for a hell of an easy install. -Thank You!
Check the end of your air compressor. The fix-a-flat is a round canister right on the end of the housing. By the way, if yours is gone I suggest just buying a can at the parts store. The Mopar one that fits the compressor is $$$.
the spare tire area is located below the chest and above the pelvis this occures when the individual eats fried food and drinks excessive beer. to remove the spare tire area excersize and diet are required. thank you for using Ask.com have a nice day
I might suggest something else ... put an actual spare in there from a regular 300, might come in handy. Our tires are not run flats and that fixaflat stuff doesn't work worth shiat and if you get stuck somewhere you'll wish you had a real spare. I've got 5K on my maggie and I've had 4 flats already. 3 times that fixaflat crap wouldn't work cause the hole was too big. Had to jack up the car, take off the tire and go get it fixed, a REAL pita 4 times now!! I'm getting a spare for mine as soon as I find something good. Just my 2 cents.
I thought the spares from other LXs wouldn't work because they don't clear the front calipers and the height difference between the the 2 rear wheels will heat up the differential. The only way I see this working well is with a big spacer on the front so that the spare clears the caliper. Then making sure you have 2 matching wheels in the back.
Forget the goop. Disconnect it and toss it if you still have it. If you use it, it has to be removed from inside the tire and there is a good chance you have to replace the TPM unit in the wheel. Dynaplug. www.dynaplug.com Will plug even larger holes than the goop, doesn't have to be removed, and doesn't ruin anything.
I thought I read about someone doing it on the OC but I didn't follow it too closely. I thought he had a 300 and got a spare from an 300C 5.7 to work but I could be wrong. I hadn't thought about clearing the brake calipers, good point, but our dif is an open one so it shouldn't burn up should it? Or will the esp/abs get messed up. At a minimum I'm getting run flats next time that's for sure, lol!
If you got a spacer to work for the front you could always use the spare for the front wheel. Flat in rear -- move front wheel to rear and put spare on front. [hijack] where is the speedo input taken from? I'm pretty sure I have a couple of graphs showing rpm and speed (with other things) where wheel spin was reflected in the speed and another where it wasn't?
You know Dave I got my 4TH flat coming home Friday from LS. Went out Sat morn and my LR was totally flat, on the rim, argh! 4TH FRIGGIN ONE IN 5K MILES so I'm looking for something other than that fixaflat crap, I know better than to use that stuff. What's this other stuff you're talking about, Dynaplug?? (I know, I know, fftopic:, sorry)
www.dynaplug.com It's a ... plug. It's better than other plugs. No rasping the hole that cuts cords. No rubber cement needed, can use multiple plugs to fill larger hole, nice tool where you store the plugs in the handle, is brass tipped for easy insertion (recommended by the EQ). Check out the info in the Product Info section and especially the Repair Guide section.
Now that I'm thinking about it. I've had 2 punctures over the past year. Both of them I fixed with tar plugs and then had them plugged and patched at the tire shop. I didn't use dynaplugs, but the working part of dynaplugs are very similar to the $4 ones - just different installation.
No, they're actually kinda different. http://www.dynaplug.com/repair.html Sounds convincing to me anyway. Granted, I still believe plug AND a patch from the inside is best.
In regards to the spare tire you speak of: I recently downgraded from a 31x10.50x15 to 215/40/15... I think I'm doing ok?:dancing:
