It's going to be some large number with an AD or AE at the end of it (I think... maybe it was at the beginning). I thought it was from the nav unit display somewhere. Did you scroll down?

I had AD and talked my service advisor into upgrading to AE because I was planning to do the hack to disable the in motion restrictions. I don't think you'll be missing anything. It's a map update. Around here there hasn't been much construction and everything was mapped before. There's areas like outside of Philly where there were holes in the maps. They catch up with things like that. and points of interest and that kind of thing. There wasn't any functionality change between D and E. You should have AD if it hasn't been upgraded. I think in 2006 it was $149 to update. Then it went to $199.

Thanks Dave, for 200 bucks I'll just stick with what I got, I don't use it that much anyway.

    Hey Guys,

The way you find the version of your disc is to check the disc itself. The AD map will work on the AE software of the REC so you are ok there. The AF disc will have new map data. Not sure if there is a REC update on that disc or not though.

Scott, do you need it? Not really. If you have good coverage in the areas you travel in, no. If you have lots of holes like I do, yes.

I have not done the motion hack yet and my Mag came with AE soooo, not sure if I will update it or not. They normally post what updates there will be on this disc but, for some reason, they do not show it. Perhaps when it is released.
