Well, the autocross module was especially rough on the instructors, since riding shotgun in a viper lends itself to nausea. I saw at least one instructor jump out of the car and run to throw up in Laguna.

You sound like my friend Bill, all he wants to do is become imfamous!! We did the Richard Petty Nascar thing last summer in Vegas and his plan going in was to put his car into the wall!! What an idiot. I said why? He said ... so I'm famous! Moron. Dave, luckily for you I don't think there's any weeds at LS for you to get into, only gravel traps, lol!

Tam, what's better about it being run by RP now instead of SB??

Now that's funny. I suppose it's non-stop praying actually, lol!

Well, just keep in mind that SB specializes in autocross / roadcourse performance driving while RP is more about Nascar / dragstrip motorsports. So this means you'll get different expertise levels and different emphasis in different areas of performance driving and motorsports.

Well, I'm not planning on crashing but I bet I can get closer to the edge with their car than I could with my own...

Sounds like it'd be better if it was Skip Barber doing it since it's at Laguna Seca. Hmmmm ...

They each have their strong points and we didn't get the whole drifting thing or drag competitions with SB, but yeah, I think the RP guys are a bit skittish about courses with lots of turns.

Hmmm, well, should be interesting then. Hey, it's enough for me to just be able to step foot on the hallowed grounds of Laguna Seca Raceway, being in a car and driving it (no matter how slow) is just icing on the cake! That place has so much history and legend it's literally heaven for a car guy like me. :worthy:

It's free with purchase of a new SRT-8 LX (and I think even the Jeeps :shok:). Up until about mid last year you had 2 years to use it or lose it. After that it's 1 year to use it or lose it. You can go again or take a friend(s) for $500 a pop. I don't know if you have to have a VIN to register or sign up friends or if it's completely open to the paying public. I would assume so.

$500 to be an active participant, $60 to be a guest/observer. If you just bought an SRT, your first time is free.

I was wondering what "guest/observer" meant. That mean you get to ride? or just the talks and lunch.

Hmm, again, I did it with SB and they may have done that, but it was usually toward the end of modules when they had time to kill.
