I HIGHLY recommend that people do the track experience here. A bunch of us went in December 2006 and had a blast. It's a very challenging and fun track. A true world class road course. I was disappointed when it wasn't offered in 2007. Fontana doesn't even come close.
My wife and I signed up for this on the 22nd (tomorrow). I wonder how the rain will affect the class. -Ray
I have to go read my confirmation letter but I believe it said something to the effect they hold it no matter what. The drifting would be easier. maybe they switch to rain tires:bigwink:. I assume that if you ruin one of their cars they just get pissed and their insurance covers it :shok:
Its held rain or shine...you just get to learn how to handle these things in the rain... oh and have fun with the viper in the rain...hahahaha
I'm going tomorrow. At the moment the radar looks like we might have a break. Tail end of this one and the next one is supposed to come in Sat afternoon... fingers crossed.
hmmm, actually you probably wanna drive first. I figure there's some probability I'll put one or two in the weeds. With a week of rain here it's going to be pretty soft off track so it'll probably take them a couple of days to get a car back in service... I wonder how many spares they have on hand?
Great Dave, you're going in PLANNING on wrecking the cars?? LOL!! Remind me to get in line IN FRONT of you, hahahahahaa!! I should have went today ...
I did the Skip Barber variant of this back in December of '06. And yes, they have the track experience rain or shine (imagine driving a viper in the autocross on wet pavement!). I'd have signed up, but oh yeah, I'm preggers! So have a blast and take pictures!
it wouldnt really be "drivin"...it would be "holding on for dear life while the car was doing whatever it was going to do"... this is of course...if you moved at all and didnt just spin the tires hahahahaha
Eh, I was doing 70 mph in said conditions and not spinning out, but that's cause I'm SMOOOOOOOTH! :deshade:
haha....at the TE when i went...there was a guy who spun the viper around at EVERY single turn...but he was really not tearing up the track on any of the "modules" lol
I went to two different TEs on two Saturdays back to back. So I had the same instructors. The first TE was at Laguna, beautiful weather and everything, second was Infineon and it was WET! So I had the viper instructor telling me "You did this last week, go faster!" "Ok!" *look at speedo* "Damn!" "Faster!" "Ok!"
thats cause he knew you can drive and he didn't fear for his LIFE like im sure they do with most people hahahahaha
