History of The Eastlake Queertette​

The long and storied history of one of the most prolific off-topic-posting cliques in SRT-oriented forum lore, can initially be traced back to a loose-knit group of SRT owners (and wannabe owners) on "The Red Site". It was there that this group, initially consisting of two individuals was first introduced to one another in mid to late 2005.

Bud and MotherMopar (aka: Momo, formerly MustangSally) then met in real life sometime in early 2006.

As time and forum growth continued, it was noticed that there were other SRT8 owners in the Eastlake Neighborhoods of Chula Vista, California; a southern 'suburb' of San Diego. One such individual was Stretch (Drew).

Scholars place the initial meeting of Rick and Drew somewhere in mid 2006.

During this time, other cliques were growing in size and strength in the Northern and Eastern portions of San Diego County. Namely, the East County Clique (comprised of sdcarguy, 1fastsedan, Mol, FF2Moe, et. al.), began to take root as the most recognizable and most often seen group of SRT8 owners. For those in the Eastlake neighborhoods, this was a sign of changing times, and the need for an organized band of SRT8 owners south of Interstate 8 was put to the forefront, otherwise, we'd either be swallowed-up or over-run.

Initially, we (Stretch, Bud and Momo) did not have a name to call ourselves. Then one day in 2006, on "The site of which we shall not speak" (aka: The District) Hal (a mod on these very forums today), noticed our bantering (that disproportionately consisted of homo-erotic snide comments) and dubbed us with a moniker that led to the concept of "Queertette". The finishing touches on our name came soon thereafter; we adopted our generalized area (Eastlake) and combined it with "Queertette".

The once rag-tag group of three was now officially known as The Eastlake Queertette. A name that would live in forum infamy from that day forth.

Now that we were organized, our influence and social corruption spread like wildfire. Most notably was on "The District". On that now defunct forum, our legend grew, culminating in the eventual destruction and shutting-down of that site (with the help of others). The owner of that site back-stabbed our beloved 1bad4dr (Ron) and the EQ swept in, calling for a mass exodus in support of, and in solidarity with Ron. Within a week, "The District" went from high activity to smoldering wreck... and then it was no more.

In 2007, diegochrysler (Ryan - a coworker of mine who lives in Eastlake) bought his 300SRT8, and was quickly initiated as a member.

In late 2007, FF2Moe moved his family from East County to the Southbay area of Chula Vista, CA. We recognized his credentials as an SRT8 owner and shortly thereafter offered him membership.

Also in late 2007, a long time supporter (since the days on The Red Site) was given Honorary Standing/Membership amongst the EQ. Legmaker (Chris) was our first, and currently only, member outside of Southern San Diego County... as he lives in Florida.

Today, we stand 10 strong with influence on the East Coast. Our tomorrow is bright.

2007: The Eastlake Rally Course is established by Bud on a seldom travelled dirt road on the outskirts of Eastlake... while driving a rental car.

2007: The Eastlake Proving Grounds is established on a winding road around the Otay Resovoir.

2007: The East County Clique and EQ hold their first summit South of I8 at Miguels Restaurant, Eastlake.

2008: Amidst a border skirmish, an alliance with the PoHo Bros was formed.

2008: Hemisfear (Milan), Master_1011 (Jeff), SanDiegoSRT8 (Luis) and Mains (Chris) inducted.

2008: Ron (1bad4dr) is approached by a bare-assed Rick (Bud) in the hotel lobby bathroom during the Spring Fling and is butt humped during the course of the event by at least 2 other EQ members.

2008: Momo starts a thread accusing diegochrysler of not helping "THE SHOW"; many respond with hateful comments about Ryan... only to find out Ralph already solved the problem - ooppsss! (http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7421&highlight=Ryan+wont+help+ralph).

2008: Ryan, Drew and Jason are offered to be research and development vehicles for Vortech (with one heck of a price)! Momo also gets KW V1s & chromed oem wheels.

2008: The 'greatest dupe in forum history' - Legmaker is pulled on Milan by Momo regarding the sale of KW V1 coilovers (http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7443)

I now call upon my brothers to post additional information on 'us'.

EXCELLENT IDEA FOR A separate thread. There is nothing more I'd like to see than 'friendly' competition...oh and the fact that it amuses me to no end. Dance Spider! Dance! lol...j/k.

Oh, and Momo, I was considering the EQ along with the VI in an honourary position and even my own plan for an ultra-nouveau chic clique...but, it was frowned upon as being a conflict of interest. Surely you understand. Now, I just revel in the idea of what could have been and live vicariously through you all.
