Kind of like Carswell the fortune teller from the Johnny Carson show. Wait, fortune teller John in So Cal. Hemiguy has to be Johnny Carson:)

If memory serves, the fortune teller on Johnny Carson was "Carnac the Magnificent" and now it looks like that hat he wore has come back on someone else's "head". (Pun fully intended.) How can a cylinder head predict the results in the envelope?

Hemiguy and his posts are perfect examples why any type of public test which involve competing products, are just not worth the effort for the parties involved. It would have been less aggrevation and much less drama to work behind the scenes and provide the end results to a paying customer who is looking for the truth.

Public testing like this will always bring out those people who "think" they know more than the originators about the results or have an inside line on the process or will just flat out not believe anything the test results provide if it shows their "fav" doesn't come out on top. That's why it's still best to do this testing without the prying eyes of the public.

One thing the internet has always proven to provide is "Instant Experts" in the field.

Even if a person hasn't any real world experience or actual proven results in the performance business, they can voice their opinion. It's too easy for these "Internet Experts" to hide behind a bogus screen name and just toss out doubt and rhetoric about the competition. It was only a matter of time before this occurred here, especially with this *HOT* topic.

I hope the time and money spent on this head swap was worth it for the people at HoP because I think they have just opened a huge Pandora's Box regarding ported HEMI heads.

Carson started each show with a monologue and continued with sketches in which he played recurring characters like magician "Carnac the Magnificent," "Carswell" the fortune teller, and "Faharishi" the yogi.

Well put Ed. In hind sight, maybe tuning to each head would have taken away any skepticsim from the membership. I still commend HoP for attempting this. It will be nearly impossible to please everyone, no matter what you do. Kudo's Josh.

Exactly Ed, couldn't agree with you more. Now we have rumors that we swapped a cam out, I wonder who's the rumor mill. No the cam was not swapped. For us it was an important test. I was able to see the quality of each pair of heads, the problems each set of heads had, and how the vendors represented the product to me. Yes the heads where given a re-tune under wot. Listen the heads where flowed and they where tested, interestingly enough the Mopar heads actually flowed a bit better than the HHP did but made less power on the dyno. We may have a rocker / retainer issue with those heads just like we did with the PR&D heads. We will know shortly if that's the case. All in all I never expected to see all four sets of heads put down the same horsepower and torque, but I knew it was going to be very close. The data will be presented to all of you, and you can make your own decisions based on the test results. Again it was a test for HoP and we decided to share the results.

We know - you've told us.

Unfortunately "Hemiguy" you're also one of the classic "internet experts" who "hide behind their internet identity."

You've got 6 posts here - all in this thread. What's your agenda? What's your screen name on other forums? Who are you? What are your affiliations? Whose products do you own?

You're hardly a new guy with 6 posts, so who are you?

(this has nothing to do with whether you're right or not - I'm just skeptical of the new screen names who only post in one controversial thread)

At least opinions like Hemi31's come with a long reputation and a certain amount of credibility.

Easy there John Hemi guy. You called it...whatever dude. Internet forums always bring out conspiracy theorists too Ed.

I, for one, don't think another test like this will be replicated for some time so...it is what it is, and there was definitely value to it. Much thanks to HoP, Trojan and the participating vendors. I look forward to the rest of the results.

    Josh,

Now you know why I refuse to get involved with the typical bickering that occurs in any of the camshaft threads. There's always some shop's lemming who has more time to play on the forums, rediculing the results, rather than doing any real research and development. I've seen it in the Ford market, the LSX market and now in the HEMI market. Not much has changed other than the IP address. At least some of us in this business have real world results such as event wins, national records, number one qualifying spots and even a few Class Championships to back up their results. No drama, no BS, just success.

Suffice to say, this head test and any other like it, will always bring major drama. It's just the nature of the internet.

... back to my lunch ....

Dude - I just flipped a coin. I called heads. It came up heads.

That's as impressive as any post you've ever made. You called nothing.
