dvssrt8 (i think is how he spells it) is running hhp stage 2 heads/cam package and dr's on stock halfshafts. he says he's easy on the launch. the guy runs mid 11's NA so id say you can still get super fast times without launching from 3k
preload the chassis.....thats the biggest thing you can do.If you flash the converter off the line and hook your toast.also let it hop off the line.......meaning as you load up the converter and the lights come down lift off the brake and let it move a hair then roll into the throttle smoothly......this will not only preserve the axles but yield a better 60' as well.It takes some practice but you'll know the feeling as soon as you get it right.
Sort of...but with that much power out of the hole..some guys can't even go WOT in first gear without spinning...especially if they're hitting the giggle juice near the end of it. DR's will at the very least, help with this.
pre-load the converter so you don't flash it. HP doesn't break halfshafts - sudden shock does. Wheelhop, or grip and release events will kill you. Pre-load - then roll in the throttle.
You can probably get between 1500-1800 rpm on the line. Don't want to get too close to wheelspin by overpowering the brakes.
I ran 1.76 and 1.77 60's with stock converter, halfshafts, and rear on DR's. Preloaded to about 1500-1700. I did not break my halfshafts until I had HS converter and Quailfe with the DR's.
good luck to ya man. let us know what you did and how it pans out. PLEASE take it easy at first man, dont brake those half shafts!
LOL,I'll try not too. Will be running them tomorrow night if I get out of work on time..I'll let you guys know how it goes..Thanks again..
