So I have the Autometer Trans Temp Gauge here that I am waiting for a nice day to take it to the shop so I can throw it up on a lift and install it. However, if anyone has had any experience with installing this type of gauge before, any tips or how two instructions would be greatly appreciated!!
Just make sure its in a good spot that has clearance or at the deepest part of the pan, I opted for a PML pan that already had the hole cut for the temp guage. OH and make sure you have some extra ATF+4 on hand
AHH no it was on the hemi truck, PML suggested the spot, I'll do my best to explain where. If your standing under the vehicle facing towards the rear, look up at the tranny pan and on the front right side is where it was installed, front driver side so to speak Did yours come with the female end to thread into as you have to hole punch the area and install a inner threaded attachment that is screwed down on each side to hold it in place
gooootcha...i think i follow you... I will be working with someone who knows WTF they are doing...so i should be good haha... but i welcome all tips and help just in case he doesn't know where to install haha
I got something for ya. Bend over and stick that thing right up ... uh get markus out of the way first ... then stick that thing right up your candy azz! Temp will probably read hot all the time ... hahahhahahhhhaaaaaaaaaa!! (hey, you asked)
lol :gtfoslap: Action?!? Your twig and berries?!?! Collecting dust if it wasn't for markus's "housekeeping" hahahahahahahhaa
Your gonna need a manifold to plumb the sender into. You can buy it from Summit,it's made by Autometer. Here is what it looks like installed...... Make sure you cut the line on a straight since the manifold uses compression fittings.Install it on the drivers side line as that is the feed to the cooler.
hmmm...this looks like it can be more complicated then planned... you gonna be down here anytime soon Erik? hahaha i got a shop to do it in! hahaha
It's actually very simple.Once the line is cut the manifold goes right on.Thread the sendor into it and wire the gauge like you originally planned.
ok...ill look for the unit in Summit later tonight and post it up so you may verify that im not a total dumbass and chose the right part... luckly for me...someone who knows what the hell they are doing will be installing this and not me...ill be doing my HID's hahaha
Auto Meter Transmission Temperature Gauge Manifolds Simplify your transmission temperature gauge installation. Use these Auto Meter transmission temperature manifolds to simplify your transmission temperature gauge installation. Auto Meter Auto Meter Transmission Temperature Gauge Manifolds ------------------------------- I gotta look to see if i need 3/8 or 5/16...but thats it right?
So if i got this right...the manifold will keep me from having to drill during the install, just have the fluids flow through this manifold where the censor will read the temp there? and im stupid...which size do i need to get?...it says my sender is 3/8 so im assuming that i need the 3/8's...
