I'm finally going to put the 180 degree thermostat in my sled! I went to Auto Zone and the butt knuckle working their said, "NO CAN DO"! Okay tried Pep Boys and the samething. Maybe stupid people attract stupid people, not sure!

I was hoping someone could give me part number, where they bought theirs, price and so forth. I was hoping to buy it locally, but I have no problem ordering it online or over the phone. Please help the retard out. :tooth:

all the auto parts stores will say that about our cars...they insist they "dont make them" for them yet...

I got mine on the net and is great...fit perfect and no problems to speak of...

im SURE one of our vendors (as was stated above) has one for ya...they aren't that expensive...

Here is what you need from Autozone:

    Motorad, aka Valuecraft, aka Duralast
    #4128 for the 180
    #4127 for the 170

You will also need to upgrade the radiator cap as some have experienced leaking caps after the T-stat mod, this is also at Autozone:
    Motorad #7720

Here is a great write up and install article by BMartin http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9352

The key to getting one from autozone is to NOT tell them anything about your car. Just tell them to x-ref the 4128/4127 which will being up a special order thermostat in their "failsafe" line.

Agree. Don't tell them what you are putting it in. If you do, you will be there forever while they search.

If you need an extra gasket (because they don't come with one), you can get those at CarQuest Part No. C31788 (They might have to order it for you.)

Yea, took me 2.5 minutes to walk out of my local AutoZone with one.
    "I need a thermostat"
    "What kind of car?"
"Ummm, if you just look for 4128 on your screen there it should come up"
2 steps into the racks and he has it in hand.
"You're going to put that in your Magnum??" -- haha, it's a small AutoZone. The counter guys hang out in front watching people put stopleak in their radiators.

with tax $15.78. Doesn't come with a gasket so careful to preserve your original. I haven't heard anyone that wasn't able to. The Jet comes with a gasket. I think the only other way to get a gasket is to order the stock part (t-stat and gasket?).

I know the answer to that, you dumb ass... I TOLD YOU GO TO NAPA, not Autozone... and I specifically told you do NOT go to Pepboys. Good Lord... I wanted to work in law enforcement, and I end up working with the mentally handicapped.

    Yes-posted in other forum soon:shok:

If you want to hold the AutoZone employees hand one step further here is the actual part# for the 180 (4128) Valuecraft #417275 $12.99
CST Radiator Cap #728108 (7720) $4.99 and ditto what everyone else says they are so used to looking up by application it throws them off if you give them the part number I got lucky my good friend is the manager of the AutoZone close to me so he understands
