Today we spent some time doing some dyno testing with the new 90mm TB that will be available very soon. This is a pre-production unit ans we spent a couple of hours playing with it on the dyno today. First pull was with stock TB, second was with the 90mm TB. Both before and after runs were tuned. Keep in mind that the intake manifold we were using has not been modified one bit, so there is no port-matching to speak of. With a port-matched manifold, we will probably pick up a few more hp. This car had the following mods:

    426 shortblock
    ported heads
    mild cam
    stock manifold
    CAI
    Longtubes
    Diablo
    Catback

We will be dynotuning a stock SRT8 next week and may have 5.7 truck numbers also without tuning.

so if i am doing my math correctly, you picked up 22 hp with just a tb change??? i am assuming the first run was stock tb and the second was 90mm tb correct??? if so, very cool!!! i thought for certain there would be issues with this. i was not aware that this could just bolt and go. were there any tune issues, or did you have to tune for it any different??? details guys..... that and cost if you have it!!! 22 hp is pretty impressive!!!!

You need to do a bone stock srt-8 to get a base line as it allways helps the modded car the most.

Sounds like BS, a real cheap HP/TQ adder like that? But thats GREAT news! I hope the 5.7 news is just as good.

Re-read my first post. We are dyno tuning a stock SRT8 next week.

This isnt BS, we tested this today and those are the numbers. We may get even more out of it by port matching the manifold. Dont expect the same gains on a stock 5.7.

Impressive Andy. SAE 5 please? Thanks

That's on a stock 6.1 intake manifold then? I thought you had to modify the stock manifold, or at least do some more porting.

This is on a bone stock manifold, port-matching will only improve the numbers.

Whether it is SAE or STD, the gains are the same.

Stock numbers will actually be available tomorrow. We decided to go ahead and work tomorrow to get stock engine dyno results. Pricing is not set. Yes, we are tuning with the tb, but the before numbers were tuned also, so the gain is all in the tb. The Tb will come with a tune to load in the predator.

We already shipped 30 out, did you not get one. lol. It will be a couple months.

Yes a tune is required. The TB will come with a tune. You will have to send your current tune in for the modification to the air/flow tables.

Before and after means that we didnt run on a stock tune and then add a tb and tune it. If that was the case, the gains would be due to a tune and not the tb. We put the car on the dyno and tuned it to its max capability. then we added the 90tb and did the same.

we do not have a projected cost yet. lol.

You will need a 3" to 3.5" adapter to make your current CAI work. C&L will be making their CAI a direct fit for the TB.

The gains with SAE will be smaller because the overall HP/TQ will be lower, such is the nature of STD v SAE. Regardless I look forward to your stock longblock N/A 6.1 results.

    21.91rwhp gain STD
    21.35rwhp gain SAE

Hardly what I consider a difference.

Like I've said before Andy. We want to use SAE 5 smoothing on everything here, well at least on Dynojets. It could be off 1 HP, well 1/2 HP here. LOL

It's the peak numbers that are 11.34 RWHP different.
