I've received a number of requests lately for thermal intake gaskets that don't cause an airflow disturbance (aka dogleg) directly in front of the intake ports, or add intake runner length like a phenolic spacer will. They will work on all SRT8s.
We now have some on the way (should be here within 2 weeks). They are called Thermalnators, and are made by a company that makes parts for Mercedes and other high end European cars, here's a pic of the SRT4 version:

They are a mere .002" thicker than a stock gasket but compress to exactly the same thickness once installed. Price will be $105 + shipping.

We are taking pre-orders (you won't be billed until they ship to you) in the Modern Horsepower forum:

    Thanks!

    2 questions.
1- will they work with the phenolic spacers?
2-was there a problem with the spacers blocking air flow?

Andy do these comapre to the phenolic spacers with slowing down Heat Soak?
Do you need gaskets also with them?
    Thanks

Yes they will work with phenolics, however you don't need them (phenolics) since the thermal gaskets serve the same purpose. Additionally the dogleg (change in angle) from the intake manifold runner to the intake ports on the heads is not present with thermal gaskets (since they're as thin as the factory pieces) like it is with phenolics. It's like having the best of both worlds, uninterupted/undisturbed airflow and a thermal barrier.

No, the thermal gaskets serve as the head/intake gaskets, they're all you need. I've used phenolics in the past and then switched to thermal gaskets a few mos. back. IMO they (thermal gaskets) work just as well as phenolics without the possibility of losing HP due to the aforementioned dogleg.
