aha! so the Tranny is going to go out eventually. That's more or less what I figured would haoppen with more power and the answer I was looking for.

orlando area, we try to have meets maybe 3 times a week. some meets are a hit & miss...anywhere from 3 to 10+ cars will all get together. As far as one big monthly meet, it would be nice. I think it's the point where it should be open to all SRT models. On flsrtoc, one member was thinking of having a meet at the end of this month or next at Daytona beach, have some food & take some nice pics of all srt's.

I know most of the older srt owners right now have their cars down for rebuild or just builds period which some are almost done. They're talking about coming back out once they're done. so who knows. but the Orlando picnic meet was huge. 15 from Tampa, & the rest from the CF area. Easy over 50 cars in & out throughtout the day.

I've gone to various meets here, monthly ones at that, mainly imports, & they get together in masses...& not all riced out pieces of shit. You saw the pics bryan of Lollicups meet right? I think it's just a matter of showing people that we're serious. That's why I take pics & post up, to show that there are some of us getting together. We are now seeing more new SRT's come out or contact us saying they are going to try cause they see the pics & see that we're actually having fun & doing shit.

Old town is a blast, we'll have at least 5 srt-4, & a shitload of srt-8's or even just the r/t chargers, magnums, etc. We literally take up half the parking lot in the back, all Dodges lol...& I take pics & post to show, that we're out there...

Hell, I try to drive out to most of the meets, gas permitting. Most of the meets are a good 30-45 minutes away from me & Drew (another member from srt forums), & we always go together to make a presence (spelling kills me). Hell, I'll even drive to Tampa, which from where I'm at now, is almost 2 hours...again, gas permitting (being funds are low & all). Like jesus says, some members make the drive no matter what...this will always be a topic in peoples head...& it's all just .02...but we can't be a dieing breed guys. Even if the new generation of SRT owner's are dickheads...let them kill themselves (even if that's harsh)...

 

I agree, the Orlando picnic was awesome. Best part was the drive from Tampa to Orlando. Jesus hit all the points in his post, it's just "one of those things" that seems to never work itself out. You all just let me know the next picnic and my ass will be there.

 

yup I saw that meet. I would have gone had I not been in SFL the previous day. I'll go to any meet, i'm not just an srt enthusiast, i'm a car enthusiast so I have no problem hitting up a meet like that sometime.

In response to the orlando meet. And I feel pretty confident in saying that Jesus and probably a few other people feel the same way. While there were lots of cars it wasn't very relaxed if you ask me. The turnout for cars was awesome, but from the beggining it got a little messy. I mean we spent longer than we should have waiting at the hard rock for some people, then on the way there we stopped numerous times for whatever the reason, maybe to regroup (because I'd assume knowing you're going on quite a trip, you would have already had gas and food to hold you over), some people got lost on the way up and being in the back of the pack and with people racing and stuff it was hard for me to follow people as well especially not knowing where i am going. then once we got there we got kicked out, had to direct people to go to another random spot which ended up not holding everyone as some people parked in other lots or in the road itself and then asked to move. And once we did get settled in, it was like Tampa guys go over here and Orlando guys go over here. I mean we're all to blame for that because we could have gone over there just as easy as they could have come over to where we were and people are usually more comfortable with who they know anyway. The meet could have had potential but it just fell apart some of which we had no control over, other parts which we did have control over.

Then we have our ft desoto meet and not 1 CFL srt bothers to show up after we come in with like 20 cars to theirs. It's just not a comparrison to the SFL meets and the atmosphere there. Like I said they probably have more cars, have done more things together who knows, we can't force people to go to a meet and say love it, some people are just different and have different lives. We could take notes from the SFL meets but it doesn't mean we're going to change with a snap of our fingers either. No offense to the CFL guys or anyone, I'm just simply stating I was dissapointed with that particular meet. We should all go to the SFL one, I mean they have their own contests with awards, friendly atmosphere, people pay to get in so it's fair for everyone so no 1 person buys all the food and usually a lot of people show up. It's worth a try.

 

on a side note...there's a lot of things happenin in the next few months, lets take advantage of it
