What's up?...Well I finally have a good question. I'm running the original 93 CAI version canned tune in my SRT that I got back when it firt came out and I'm absolutely in heavon. The car is an absolute animal. I see Ver. 18 is now out, what will putting this version into my car give me? Will it help out power? Does it fix anything and if so what does it fix? And finally what are the steps to put the new version in?

Thanks for helping me. I've been putting this off as I'm scared I'll lose the animal I put under the hood last September!

Actually, we are on 8r20 now.
There have been fixes to improve shifting in the Jeeps and to eliminate the possibility of losing AWD in the snow/ice, so updating is a good idea.
Be sure to restore the backup before updating the Predator.

    Thanks
    Mike

Did you try putting it on the car?
    Dont.
If you did not apply it to the car you must go back to the revision you had on there before, and then restore the backup.

Guys, this is a CRITICAL step.
Restoring the backup MUST be done before updating, every time.
Please try to keep this in mind.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Just making sure:

    1) Restore my OEM tune that I backed up in the Predator.
    2) Bring Predator into house and update to new version.
    3) Then reload 93 CAI into SRT8 again after backing up original OEM tune.

    Correct?

    No.
I think you need to call us, so we can figure out what you did.
It sounds like you DID install the tune from r20 after updating?
I need more clarification as to what you have done before I can tell you what to do....but do not do anything else in the mean time.

    Thanks
    Mike

Interesting answer...let me see if I have this correct.

    1. Restore car back to stock tune.
    2. Download new revision (i.e. R20) to Predator
    3. Back up STOCK tune to predator and load R20 to car.

    Is this NOT correct

Assuming you are starting with an older revision, and going to update, then yes, restore the backup to the truck, update the tool, then reapply tune to the truck.

Issue here is, the OP did not restore his backup first.

    Thanks
    Mike
