because neon owners are cheap lol

i'll agree that wires are wires. there's no need to spend $50 on a set of wires for our cars, they're only 4" long so resistance isn't really an issue. just get the mopar ones, they're prefectly fine.

but plugs aren't just plugs. they make a HUGE difference. each car is different and is going to run best on a different plug and gap. you just need to find out what your car likes. my car happens to like irridiums, other cars like the champions, it varies. but to say that a $2 spark plug works just as good as a $12 in all cases is just plain ignorant. now i won't go as far as saying those new $25 a piece plugs are worth it, but there's a reason certain plugs are more expensive......

    Performance mods?

I don't understand why the plugs need to be changed so often in these cars. I have around 9k on the ones in my car now. The Hemi style Champs gapped at .040. But not I have 3'' 02 housing, 3'' downpipe to 3'' SEE and plan on putting the Stage 2 WGA and hope to hit around 17 lbs of boost. I would need a smaller gap correct? .036?

Thats basically what I was trying to say....

But..yeah..the 10 dollar champions work best for me. And yes, I have tried all the plugs out there. 4306's, NGK iridiums, Champion iridiums, champion coppers, bosch platinum (worst ever....no gapping)

I have heard to not use platinum plugs on turbo motors. Anyone know? And if so then why?

so the above are your actual performance mods. you're on the stock turbo and were trying to run 22's? no wonder they weren't working very well. even with the nitrous you should be using 16's, maybe 20's. standard rule is that you need to go one step colder for every 100hp over stock.

thanks for the bottom link. The top link shows the resistance with it simply plugged up to an ohm meter. Different scenarios take place when you are driving the car. See the Magnecor site and how they explain it....

well not so much. I have run a set of the pulstar plugs (the company is located right next to my office) and did an buttload of data logging. The hp gain goes away once the computer learns the plug. Not to mention some of the other interesting things I found.

I ran a set with a .40 gap. At first there is a 3* advance from the plugs as well as a jump in fuel economy ~2-3mpg. Over time the advance and the hp gains go away as the ecu learns how the plugs function but the added fuel economy is still there. I couldn't figure out why this was happening but after more data logging I have a theory. Since the stock o2 sensor is a nerst cell type it can only measure rich or lean nothing inbetween or exactly how rich or lean. Since the plugs cause a more complete burn of the avaliable fuel it allows you to run the same AFR with less fuel if that makes sense. I found that with the plugs in I was running 60 to 100 degrees hotter egt's, my injector pulse width was down 2ms, as well as the injector duty cycle was 11% lower when compared to a set of ngk coppers.

Just thought I would share because how the data is obtained is sometimes more important than the data itself.
