Does anyone know if the BFGoodrich G-force KDW 265/35ZR20/XL will fit our vehicle? I remember someon saying BF Goodrich doesn't even make a tire for our ride! Your help is appreciated. Later, Ryan:zorro:

I called a couple tire shops and they said the BF Goodrich would fit on my car. I noticed the stock Goodyears on my ride are 255/45ZR20. The only difference I can see #'s wise is the 275 v. 255 and 45 v. 35! The ZR is the same. Is it safe to say then, that they will fit my ride???????????? Is anyone out there! ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 35 series tire will look awfully small on our cars with 20" rims. Yes it will fit, but you'll have a lot of gap. Happy? Look at the Vresesteins, Toyo Proxes 4s, or Nitto Invos, they all have 40/45 series tires that fit our rides.
Yeah they will fit...I believe you can fit up to 275's properly on LX wheels...but those should work...i would agree that 35's is pretty small...i dont like going smaller than 40...
Correct....I've seen that size on our rides before on charger forums. Looks a bit small and kinda funky. Sorry bro.....it'll fit, but it won't look right at all. But I'm with ya on that tire. I've had it on two other vehicles, and looooooooved them. Grippy as hell! I also am waiting for BFG to release one for our cars dude! Chase
In all seriousness, my aesthically-challenged friend: the "35" portion of the tire size 265/35/20 refers to the height of the tire from the rim to the top of the tread (or something like that). The smaller the number, the more narrow the tire. Like others have said: it won't look right at all. Your wheel will not fill up your wheel well... even if your car's chassis was so low that it was dragging on the ground. Let me guess where this idea came from... you went to Mark's shop and he has a hook up on BFGs?!?! They WILL fit, but it'll look dumb as hell. You don't need tires yet, I don't think... follow the advice of the above and look first at the Vredstein, then Toyo and Falkens. Save up a bit and get a tire that truly fits your ride. Not only that, but with a more narrow tire, when cornering or pushing the car, isn't that a liability?!?!
Did Rick see his tires on another SRT8 or did he research it and then go for tires that fit? Thanks for watching my back MOMO! Nothing more than watching though you hole in one "PIG"! Your right I was told the first number 275 is from the tire meeting the rim or bead to the bead on the other side. I was told the higher the first number the side wall distance which is the "SECOND" (35) # is sometimes better due to the higher first # (275)! I hope that made sense! Yea... something like that This depends on the tread width. The tread width is in mm. The second number is a ratio (%) of the tread width giving the sidewall height. So you figure like this: Tread width X aspect ratio = sidewall height in mm Times that by 2 to include the top and the bottom for the diameter Convert to inches Add to the wheel diameter = ~height of tire (approximate because it doesn't account for bulge if you squeeze them on too small a rim. Stock: 255 x .45 = 114.75 mm 2 x 114.75 = 229.5 mm 229.5 mm = 9.035 inches 20" + 9.04" = 29.04 inch tire height 275/35/20 = 27.58 inch tire height <-- probably too small.... 265/35/20 = 27.05 inch tire height <-- pretty much definitely too small (might be good for the 1/4 mile?) I'd have to agree with that. Unless you drop it at least 2 inches. Let's see.... 2" less tire height, plus 2" drop so it doesn't look silly, and that leaves you with about 1.25 inches of clearance. Better have some front valences on hand in the garage. No, it will handle better... unless you hit a large bump, dent the wheel, and lose air (basically a blow out).
DAM, Quick you the man, but I didn't need to tell you that. Would you recommend a 285 or 295! Would they fit our rides?
Maybe... Personally I wouldn't recommend anything wider than 275 on the stock rims but I don't know much about it. You're not going to get any better performance cause when you squeeze too big of a tire on too small of a rim it squeezes the sidewalls and you don't get a larger patch on the road. Anything over 275 and you're on the edge of fitment issues. You have more room in the rear than the front. You can use spacers, roll the fenders, etc. and you're still going to be really close to something rubbing. You can put 275/40s on all four corners, get more rubber on the road, be able to rotate them, and you shouldn't have any fitment worries. 275/40/20 (closest size the Vreds come in) = 28.66" height 245/45/20 (Stock RSA's) = 28.68" height
Oops, error. It's not so bad. You only need to account for the top half of the tire height loss on the drop. So you'd only need to drop it 1" to maintain something close to the stock look. That would leave you 2.25" of clearance... much better.:blink:

Those are all about 1" to 1.5" away from the stock height. I think anything more than 1/2" difference is going to start to be noticeable. Either in looks, handling, performance, or all of the above. Remember it's all tire too. That 30.4" is going to make your rims look a lot smaller and the tire a lot larger... you might consider old style white walls with that one. Would look sharp wearing a hat like this :tip:and spats. The other two might not be too bad but you'd probably want to drop the car an inch and you'd end up 2 inches lower to the ground. Just my opinion/guess.
285 MIGHT but it would be pushing it i think...and i am 99% sure that 295's are just too wide for the 9" wheel
