Am I wrong in thinking we should crush a 350Z from a 70MPH roll? I was easing along on the highway today slowly passing a 350Z he had custom rims and an aftermarket exhaust. As I started passing him he jumps on it so I did the same. We were neck and neck then he slowly started pulling on me. We went to about 120 he pulled about 1/2 a car on me by then. WTF!!!! Are those things that fast? I suspect he was spraying. I guess the good news is he was pretty cool gave me a big thumbs up and I did the same.

theres no way he just had exhaust, I've had a 350z try to keep up with me and he just couldn't do it.

70mph for a Jeep is the bottom of third gear, not the greatest speed to go from a roll. I've raced a pair of Infiniti G35s and one 350z and pulled on them all by a good 3-4 cars from 60-110 or so. That was with just a DUB AIR CAI (which actually cost me power vs. stock). I'd have to believe he had mods or it was an '08 with the 330hp motor.

I agree with all the above! That joker had to of had some secrets under the hood. I've beat up on a few out here in SO CAL and never had a single one stay close much less 1/2 car length ahead of me. Was MOMO driving your sled...........................................:drugs:

I was not happy!! :furious: I have destroyed a few 350Z's and one G35 but I had never raced one from such a high speed roll. Judging by the sound of his ride I still think he was spraying. Oh well F him I would like to see how he would have done from a dig.:rip:

The above is probably the answer barring the 350 was highly modded.....a 350 is not a challenge for an SRT8...

That Z car was S/C'd. My neighbor has a 350Z with S/C and some other goodies and is putting down 422rwhp and 420 rwt.

    Hope that helps.

No, Centrificul. Vortex makes an AWSOME kit for the Z cars. Takes about 8 hours to install. Very easy.

dan - i think it is a combo of all that has been said. he had to have been modded, your aero dynamics are not the best, and from my understanding 70 is not the prime spot for you jeep guys..... the same reason i usually will not try a rolling start from 40 if i think the guy against me has got anything under the hood. now 60 for me..... well that is a different story!!! hehehehehe

Can attest that from anything above 70 a rolling start for the jeep is no bueno. and for the long haul muy no bueno. I have had the pleasure of running against a fellow members stock jeep from several different scenarios and always pull away hard from him...especially after triple digits...The jeep just can't go the long haul aerodynamically speaking, but from a DIG he handed me my azz, but I reached up smacked him on his azz as I passed him after around 95...good run though bro, just need to add a lil giggle juice and he will be calling you daddy next time.

as for a Z, my neighbor has one along with a g35 and put i this way, we both leave our complex for work around the same time. He has to wait until I warm my car up and pull out and pass his parking spot before he is allowed to move out of his parking spot. God I love it when people underestimate the wagon..Hey I could've bet for money, but man pride is much better. muahahahahahahah

I race a 08 jeep srt8 last week from a 30mph role and I put so many car on him by 140 I couldn't count. I spun all the way into 2nd gear as he pulled about 2 car on me but that was it. Once I hooked up I passed him by 60mph and it just got worst after that. Drag kills the jeep in higher speeds. In the same breathe I've race stock, turbo, supercharged 350z/g35's. When I raced the stock one the distance was waaaaaaaaaay worst than when I raced the jeep. So it definitely was not stock.

Wow you must be well moded or have a factory freak. I have raced several LX SRT8's from a dig and they could not touch me till triple digits. No doubt the Jeeps are made to destroy things from stop light to stop light where the LX's are deadly from a roll. I was out of the Jeeps element. One of the guys on another forum had a 350Z and said our Jeeps will kill them from any speed. He said it had to have been heavily moded to do what it did.

Or a good imagination. Same result here. I rolled a CSRT from a dig, then again at 40'ish. I walked him both times. Dude was suprised.

Also, the GC is dead at 30...so if he put 2 cars on you at that speed, it would have only gotten worse as the race went on until aeros took over.

No telling you will beat yourself up trying to figure it out like I did that TBSS. It wasn't one of those Nismo (sp?) packages (not even sure that package adds any power or if its just appearnce only?) I will tell you with Daves latest tune from B&G on my Jeep pulls HARD at 70 and higher maybe your due for a good tune. There is a company called UpRev in Austin,TX that has done some amazing tunes for the Z,Titan and G35 which have netted some large HP and TQ with just a tune
