I know I definately want to 426. Would I be a  to do such a thing? I know it sounds a little extreme and I'm okay with that but I don't want my engine to oop: the bed. What would I have to do to see to it that that won't happen? Granted a stroker kit and a s/c is expensive, I'm still on somewhat of a budget so I can't really afford to spend another 20k just so my motor doesnt blow up or like twist my car in half or anything like that. Any input? tango mucho markus
Forced Induction is fine on a 426 granted that you run a static c/r of 9.5:1 or less. Running this c/r allows you to take advantage of the superchargers ability to get in the sweet spot of the compressor map for that model of supercharger assuming it's a centrifugal style charger. A positive displacement supercharger is a bit different but c/r ratios should still remain the same. Camshaft sizing is also going to need attention, blower cams and NA cams are different.
No. Marcus, Click the CMW link in my siggy. Call Scotty over at CMW. You don't even need to go a 426 engine. Do what I have, a 6.3L. It is an overbore with a S/C cam still using factory lift and duration, compression at 9.5:1 with 12psi of boost. 596rwhp on a piggyback ECU. once CMR is complete, we will delete the piggyback ECU and add larger injectors. We are estimating an additional 75 - 100 rwhp just from the tune. Ron
daaaamn ron, you gonna get that much extra just from going with a cmr tune!!! whoa, you stud you!!! look out jeremy! hahahahaha
Ron, Do I dare ask what the set-up mentioned above ran you? Not to include the pickup and trailor to hall it in of coarse! What would are you looking at for price and time they would need the car? Do you think they take PESOS or how about rolled coins?
Daum! So what will be the next "weak link" in the chain with all that power? You might have to look into one of thos MotherMopar Performance titanium drive shafts!
Ron so your expecting to have roughly 696rwhp after the cmr tune? a cmr tune was definately in the future after the stroker went in. i think gsm has a 750bhp blown 426, dunno if it has been cmr tuned or not. i'm just slightly worried about which s/c to go with. i've heard some serious nightmare stories. who would be a good blower to get? asm any good? those are the only 2 that i know of besides some of the people experimenting w/custom turbo's, tt's and such.
RON you suck!!!!!!! Just got off the phone with Scotty! I'm in for a 426. Now I have to talk to the wife about it. It won't be for a year or so, but I'm sold. I'm going to try to stop by within the next two weeks to see his shop and stop by GSM to go for a ride in the monster 300 they have their.
whats the damage??? im alotting myself about 30k to include stroker, blower, stage 5 halfshafts, quaife lsd, 426 flash or a cmr tune, NEW TIRES...oh yeah....installation. i wanna do frickin wheelies at 60mph
yes, there were some horror stories, but then again, how many of them were Owner detonate? Mine was. How much responsibility should an owner take for adding 100+ hp to a STOCK engine? With a Forged bottom end, you will not have much to worry about. I have logged in over 16K HARD miles on my engine. NOT one, I'll say again, NOT one hiccup. ASM. Yea just send me the 8K + and I will kick you in the nuts and you can run Stock engine times... Not worth it man. ASM as YET to prove their HP gains. The ones I and some others have witnessed were running stock motor times and trap speeds. GSM's 426 S/C'd is on a B&G Stage IV flash. CMR tuning for the S/Cers is in the works. Once Scott has it ironed out on his shop car, my car will be out there to get the tune. Oh yea, I am NOT only having the tune done either. We will be adding one other GOODY for MORE power. hehe
