Heard from a friend of mine who works at Chrysler that the 08 Challenger will be a 6.1L/auto - basically the same drivetrain in the current SRT8's. That seems to be common knowledge.

What I did not know is that for 2009, he said Chrysler will put in a 6.4L/500HP/Tremec Viper 6 Speed combination. I have heard rumors of a 500HP SRT8 combination, but did not know it had been given the green light until now.

Might be worth the wait!

    That would be correct.

    2008 the Challenger comes out with a V6, 5.7 and SRT8 (6.1L Auto).

2009 (Aug 2008) the Challenger will have new options.

    6.4L with 6 speed

    Convertible and new colors.

worth it IMO. Then I swap the 6.4 in to my 300 and the 426 will have twin Turbos by then and will sit with a nice 5 speed

Wouldn't be so bad.... The way I look at it, the beauty of having 3 cars is that you can only drive one at a time!! So, essentially, we wouldn't be using more gas than we already are!!! :imao:

Yeah.... I know! My theories and rationalities are quite unique!!! :rofl2:
