i had my car customed tuned yesterday by ppp. Initial dyno run was done with a mopar cai, 180 stat, and magnaflow high flow cats, and a diablo 93 performance cai. initial dyno graph showed 386 rwhp and 384 torque. then the master craftsmen at ppp ended a 3 hour custom tuning session with an astounding 412 rwhp and 408 torque CMR tuned.

I believe, this currently is number one in the country for the mods listed and/or any n/a 6.1 block. With normal drivetrain loss for our cars that's over 500 hp at the crank.

I am living on cloud nine. so pumped up you couldn't believe it. the best part of the tune was not the final numbers, as this does not do the car justice. what the best part of the tune was, is the shifting smoothness, the beautiful smooth power delivery, the downshifts are not whiplash-ish (a word or not) anymore, power delivery is continous all the way to the shift, low end torque increase quit a bit, just all around how i thought this car would drive from the factory. the best driving car i have ever owned, TUNED. if you have a chance to get your car tuned, do it and have PPP do it. no one else period if you can. they have so much experience with these cars it's not even funny.

any questions are welcome. the handheld predator was great, but this custom tune is extraordinary. WOW.

PS. first drive after tune the car was so excited it had to stop after about 5 minutes and take it all in. EXPLANATION: THE CAR MADE HAD SO MANY CHANGES MADE TO IT, AND SO MUCH MORE POWER UP TOP THAT IT DECIDED TO GO INTO LIMP MODE TO PROTECT ITSELF. THE CAR WANTED TO SOAK IT ALL IN. THEN WHEN IT WAS READY TO GO IT WENT.

HAHAHAHA the limp mode thing!! Man mine does that all the time when I hit it just right but wow you are the firts guy I have heard of doing that with so little mods. I cannot wait to get mine CMR tuned by the guys at PPP. I just have to wait a few more months :( Glad it worked out for you so well.

I believe DanRealtor did 418 RWHP at GSM, but has the addition of High flow cats but 91 octane. He was running consistant 12.60's at 111 to 112 on F1's with DA over 2000 at the Rumble

I'm not sure where you're coming from...although PPP is a good vendor...I think there's a lot of people running around with those kinds of numbers....so was wondering how you figure your car would be number one in the country for the mods listed ...well never mind. I made 406rwhp and 424 rwtrq with similar mods while on a dyno and using a wideband on a dynojet.

But, the real point is dyno numbers don't mean crap. WAY to much variation between dynos, dyno operators, conditions, vehicles etc etc...For tuning your ride...great. Congrats on your ride being a whole new beast and look forward to seeing you post some good times as well.

Congrats on the tune! One thing though, 412 at the wheels does not equal over 500hp at the crank. Our cars have about a 17% drive train loss. 412 rwhp would give you around 482hp at the crank. Still a great number though!

    Good luck!

I would lean closer to 18%, but yeah 480-490 is probably closer. Glad you are happy with the car. I would raise the rev limiter 100 rpm with the handheld, thats more than likely the cause of the limp mode as the car wasnt shifting fast enough and hitting the rev limiter hard enough to throw it into limp mode.

Wondering why the tune smoothed out the shifting? Personally I had a initial CMR email tune (not from PPP) that also smoothed out the shifting and I hated it.:novote: On a performance vehicle I want firm chrisp shifts not smooth. Johan @ Diablo fixed my tune and the chrisp shifting is back!

    Anyone else prefer firmer shifts?

Uh, wasn't that cause you left in autostick and floored it? :rofl2: No autoshift = limp mode. It was still fun though. :yahoo: Fassst is all I can say.

I am aware of an SRT-8 engine that was dyno'd on a chassis dyno AND on an engine dyno.

The results on that particular engine showed an 18.5% loss.

First let me say nice numbers (if you like em) But I Hate to burst your bubble...I have AFE Stage II CAI, 180 Tstat, Magnaflow Hi-Flows and JBA Catback and got a 406hp -- 423ft/tq This was WITHOUT the Predator. Pretty close to your numbers and a winner at the end of the line due to the extra 15ft/tq :thongue2:...BUT ANYWAYZ..Haven't gotten a chance to get it tuned now that I have the predator. and if I go by your gains, say just to match them number for number 26hp and 24ft/tq gain would net me 432hp and 447 ft/tq N/A with same mods listed...looks like you wouldn't be #1 anymore. :thongue2:MUAHAHAHAHAHA...I know I am mean....

But like all will say Dyno numbers can vary from run to run on the same car...

Your SAE HP would be in the 39X range. Not sure if the OP used SAE or STD correction.
STD is just for inflating egos, SAE has long been industry standard.
