I ran a guy in a TBSS last night, we did a 40 roll the 1st time and I barely pulled on the guy so it was not a big kill, we did this 2 or 3 times once he left before I was ready and I caught him but it took a while and started to pass him before he stopped. We finally did a run from a dead stop and I left him bad, now that I would call a kill. My question is why was he able to hang with me from a roll, could my tune be leaning me out too bad???? I have no ideas of his mods, he was much louder than my Jeep. Now I had just put the latest B&G tune on with the TCM fix and probably only had like 3 miles on it, could it just of been the PCM adapting to the new tune. I noticed this morning on the way to work the Jeep ran much better and was more responsive to the new tune but last night it felt like it was starving for fuel

Might have to do with gearing, and the fact that a TBSS modded is not too off
    from our power.

We have 5 speeds, I think they are 4, even though they have 4:10s.

They probably weigh about the same, same aerobrick dynamics......

You Jeep would kill him from a dead stop.....but from a roll, it probably wouldn't be a complete slaughter.

    Goodjob.
He prolly had intake exhaust, tune etc.......

I owned a 06 TBSS before I bought the Jeep. From a dead stop, stock to stock or even lightly modded you should pull him easily. On a 40 mph roll it wont be as easy because they are in there torque band and are mostly 2 wheel/rear wheel drive.

Additionally, your wide open throttle "open loop" is a different set of parameters compared to your street driving/cruising which is closed loop.
Once you go out and hammer it 4-5 times thats it. The adaptives are set. The ECU takes the "best" adaptives and saves them. WOT adaptives could care less about your street adaptives that repond off the O2 sensors.

not sure about the jeeps, but i know that a 40mph roll is one spot on the speedo that i try NOT to start a race........ my car just has too big a "flat" spot at that speed if i am trying to go while in drive....

Must be the Amsoil. Seriously though, he was probably modded. A 40 roll should put you in a decent place in second gear, did it downshift?

Didnt really feel like it, almost felt like I was hitting a brick wall or was dragging alot of weight, Like I mentioned before maybe the recent tune update had the PCM weirded out and it had not adapted yet, I just got back from lunch and its kicking ass now

Yeah 40 is a tough spot on the charger... I think its about 3,000ish rpm in second so a bit of a pull to get up into the power..

Due to the 3.73s 25-30 is our dead spot. first is good until ~30 but the TCM won't allow a downshift at 25, 2nd is good until 60.

40mph is the twilight zone for us....but anything else and you should hurt him. I know I have put the hurting on a TBSS at the track...he came over afterwards and was like what have you done to it? I said it only has intake, cats and exhaust. (This was before the predator) he didn't believe me..oh well
