This is amazing!!! You HAVE to share this with people with babies or young children. This is a technique to teach babies and toddlers to survive if they fall into the pool. I hope it helps one of our own one day. We have enrolled our little one in swimming lessons where ISR is taught and she will be starting March 1st days after her 2nd Birthday.

It started with a very scary experience for me albeit one that occurred in a small 1/2 ft deep kiddy pool with me sitting on the lawn beside it LOL!! Our little one was grabbing for her duckies and other toys and her bum slipped forward enough to draw her upper body and head underneath the water. I immediately plucked her out and she was terrified because it happened so quick. The sight of her little face and her eyes closing as she went under that water and her terror when I pulled her out was enough to have me enroll her in swim lessons. I know it seems silly...but man!.... You had to have seen it. The look on her face was all it took for me to decided. When I recieved this email this morning, I checked to see if the college offered ISR in their program and was VERY pleased to find out they did.

trust me mains, when it happened i could have leaped tall buildings in a single bound!!!!! long story short, me, my wife, my older son, and my little guy are out side in the back laying new sod in the yard. in florida, we have big screened enclosures that cover most of the back yard and the pool. we were working outside of the screened area. keep in mind, the screen in area is huge. like a big birdcage.....anyway, i am on one side of the yard, my wife the other and my older son in the back. i thought my little guy was with her, she thought he was with me, and my older son had no clue....... next thing we know, i hear a very small splash and i look up to see the water in the pool moving..... lots of plant and palm trees outside the screen so i could not see much but the ripples..... i walk closer and see my son face down in the water!!!! i FLEW through the screen and dove in, grabbed him, and pulled him up. he was coughing and laughing the entire time. he might have been in for 30 seconds tops. needless to say, yard work was done for the day...... my wife and i just started to cry......it was that scary......

Milan, I'm at work, and can't view it, but thanks a million!

Our neighbor's nephew fell into a pool last year and actually drowned (stopped breathing, unconscious)... they and the EMT's were able to bring him back, thank God.

Amazing! I am now on the search for a place that has this around where i live!
Thank you for sharing that. My son fell in our pool when he was younger, thank god i was right there. This would also be priceless when at the beach. I have a 20 month old baby girl now also and you can bet that they both will be using this technique.
    Thanks again!

So first of all, we're not getting a pool. Second, yeah, swim classes as soon as its possible. Third, it really really bugged me seeing that kid by itself in the pool.

    Thanks for the share!

Worst my mom had to deal with was me rolling down half a flight of stairs. I had just learned to walk and figured I could take on stairs while she locked the apartment door. Thud thud thud thud thud thud thud!!

Luckily I was all bundled up in a snowbunny type suit with the extra padding.

She ran down to me where I was laid out on my back and got me unwrapped to check for injuries and found I was just completely freaked out but otherwise ok.

My brother on the otherhand, we're still wondering how he survived childhood. Kid was a force of destruction.
