Well after alot of anticipation I had the time of my life, Getting to meet screen names face to face is always a good thing. Id like to thank Hal, Joe, Chris, Ed and Ken for there efforts in putting on a great event and for what looks to be a ongoing thing. :thumb3: Always a good thing when the staging lanes are 1-2 cars deep all day. After a awesome drive out with Cam, Moe, Ozzie, Jay, Chris Butler we arrived at the Meister Compound were we were graciously taken in for a home cooked meal. I met Chas for the first time and we all sat down at the family table. MaryAnn Meister's wife can cook like nobody's business and its always been a treat to to hangout with the legend "Meister" and his son Mike. There enthusiasm for the LX platform is amazing. Thank you Jim, Maryann, Mike and Anita for the hospitality and making me feel right at home. :friends: So after contemplating running Firebird on friday night I decided to go to Dan Realtors for a bit. Carl "Fast56k" was kind enough to drive me to Dans in his 426, What a sweet ride that was. . Carl's one of the nicest guys you'll meet and I always enjoy his company. So we made it to Dans and and the party was in full tilt. Next thing ya know its 2am and its like now what? Nobody felt comfi driving home so we opted to take Dan up on his offer to stay. Got up a 5:30 and headed to Jims for the cars and then off to the races. Got to Firebird at 8:45 just in time to get into race trim and hit the track. What a great track that is. The track prep was awesome. Traction was great and the staff there was great. Man that was fun. The place was filling up with LX's and old Mopar cars and the Rumble was Rocking. Everywhere you looked there was a new face to meet and a "Hey I no your screenname" It was awesome. I walked around a bit at the car show, chated with a few folks, Ck'd out the BT booth where Dan was , Nice to see you as always bud! So back to the races, Id been real curious as to how Id run as compared to my last trip to Sac/Az. So I went out with 20lbs in the rears of my 315 DR's and ran a 12.065. Once again my mind was thinking todays another great day to hit the 11's. Finally at 1:30 pm my goal was met. :yahoo:. I was screaming in the car to myself like a mad man. I got so pumped I had to pull over and tell everyone. :woot:. Took me about 1/2 hr t finally calm down and get myself back in order. I ran 6 more runs Sat but my 11.97 was my best. I want to personally thank Josh at HoP for all his help and work on my car and tune. Without him none of this would have been possible. Meanwhile back at the ranch Chris Butler is relentlessly perusing a new track record for the most laps in a day, 50. He never stoped. From 11-4 the man just kept running. My hat goes off to him. Boy these cars can run. The old record was 38 so I guess he did it. Also want to send a shout out to Chris "ChargerChick" for busting out hard on the track today. Girls got skills. :thumb3:and shes just Plum Crazy! After the Rumble we all went to the LX Cafe and ate dinner. I was beat so I went back to the hotel with Cam and Braxton for some much needed rest. Cams son Braxton sure knows his cars. He's glued to the Speed Channel and always has a car trader with him. DOes'nt just want a car, the kid wants a race car! I cant believe how interested he is for such a young man. Cams done a great job with that. :beerchug: So a big shout out for all who attended. As always I'm sure theres alot I left out but Im terrible with names. Heres a little slide show I put together with the pics Chas took with my camera while I was doing my thing. Click pic to play And heres one of my races. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9OaNlmxBl0 Take Care. izza:
