Hey chris, do you think the k&n filter is better than the stock mopar one? I've got the mopar cai too and really like it but I'm not too thrilled with the filter (it's all banged up and fugly anyway) and was thinking about putting in a k&n one. Opinion?

Everybody decided the LEDs were embarrassing and disconnected theirs. Noboby had the heart to tell Ron.

The filter keeps hitting the p/s resevior from all the engine torque and ends up looking like an accordian, it's not good.

    :rofl2: uh ...

Then I'm definitely there Ryan, Stevo has NO idea what you're talking about. Unfortunately, I do ... :weep:

yeeewwww. I've got mine in there with about 1/4" clearance on the p/s resevoir. It gradually works it's way out to where it's touching and I have to squeeze it back. I got washers to move the flexible bolt/hanger and then you have to push the tube into the elbow as far as possible and make sure your filter is flush on. I'll see if I can get a couple of pics. Another month or so when it might be time to replace my filter I'm going with the AFE II. I hope there's just a bit more room.

Exactly the same. I put washers on and moved it over as far as I could but there's hardly any room. I don't think it's hitting anymore since I did that since the filter doesn't look any worse but it's still not a pretty sight, lol!

Get the left end of that tube shoved ALL the way into that elbow.

Lots of washers to shim that hanger over to the left.

And, voila! plenty of clearance (at least until the filter elements works it's way out to the right a bit and you have to loosen and snug it up again).

Thanks Quick, looks almost exactly the same as mine. I used as many washers as I could to where I had barely any thread left for the nut to grip!

It's just the filter bro, I think they all get close to the p/s resevior.
