I'm going to order a wideband for my car and have a choice of: "A" AEM Uego $250.00 shipped "B" Innovate LC-1 w/VEI wideband gauge $230.00 plus shipping I read the above sticky about the widebands and seen that the Innovate "LM-1" was at the top of the list, but AEM was a close second. I was wandering is the Uego better than the "LC-1"? Which gauge you would buy and why? Thanks for all the help.
LM-1 http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=146 LC-1 http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=149 I am linking you because I do not want to miss details or misstate facts. Innovative has a great product. So its a win win IMO
I have the AEM Uego and I love it. Great tool. I picked the AEM Uego because the display is easy to read out and can be mounted in a gauge pod. Personally I choose "A" just because on how convient it is. Whichever Wideband you decide regardless of the fact which is better its a great tool to have and is much needed for every SRT-4 out there. Good luck!
^^^^ Did the kit come with everything you needed for the install? Was there plenty of wire from the sensor to the gauge?
It comes with so much wire that there's a lot of it tucked in my dash lol. It definately comes with plenty of wires. Mine is mounted on my A-pillar dual pod... It comes with everything needed for installation.
I want to know too..... I have the SRT logo on my oil pressure and EGT gauge, but how did you get it on your UEGO? Also, I would also choose option "A". The UEGO has TONS of wiring. Very easy install, and no monthly calibration. (don't know if the innovative requires this, but I know some WB's do)
the ability to calibrate is a GOOD thing, not something that should be seen as an annoyance. all widebands will be slightly off after a certain amount of time, so the ability to calibrate it makes sure that you have accurate readings when tuning and driving. you can't really go wrong with either the aem or the innovate. i have the innovate and will usually recommend that to others as well. it has more options (such as the ability to log), can calibrate (which is a good thing), and has been shown to be one of the most accurate out there (within .1 if i remember right). it's a great all around unit. the newer ones (the xd-16) comes with the lc-1 and the gauge, and is the most popular one that innovate has. the lm-1 is a good unit, but that box is bulky and you need to find somewhere to put it. here's the results from a recent wideband shootout done by ford muscle.com
Don't get me wrong....calibration IS a good thing. I should have re-worded it. The AEM is a self-calibrating WB. There is no need to do anything to it. I know some widebands, you need to pull out of the exhaust and turn the car on so the heating element warms up in ambiant, fuel-free air......
Currently we are working with the guy who makes these to see if he would like us to market them for him. They are actually decals you put over your existing face. They come in silver or black. The two he makes are for the Aeroforce Scangauge Pro and AEM Uego wideband. Keep an eye out on our vendor forum to see if we were able to market these. Still discussing details and such with the guy who makes these.
I just ordered the AEM Uego today suppost to be here Monday. Thanks for all the help. And if the srt faces are ever available for purchase I will be getting one, so I'll try and keep an eye out.
I wouldn't mind getting some of these only in black with a silver SRT-4 logo on them since I have black face plates on my AEM UEGO and Aeroforce Scangauge and have a black VEI boost gauge.
This will tell you which wideband to get...
