Moe... You might be onto something there. If Momo eats more food (pizza) he'll put on weight and his car won't rev up so fast overrunning the shift point far enough to hit the rev limiter. Have you verified your A/F with a wideband/dyno?
go to version 17......... as it has been said here, and several other forums (you need to get out more jason) 16 had issues with the 07's........ i do not think you will like the 18 becasue it shifts kinda "soft". i run version 17 and like it. when you opt to raise the shift points, it tells you that the limiter will be raised as well.
Thank you. No, we did it together. You emailed me 16a and then came over. This could be a secondary solution should my infamous technological incompetence become a factor. So, use 17. That's the answer?!?! I have it, so I'll try that. I need to restore the stock tune to the car first, I believe. Then upload 17 to the tuner, then the car. *I told you I'm incompetent with computers.
Ouch! You didn't even leave me room to retort that one. Dam. That's a solid insult right there. Someone... anyone... insult Ron about something, please.
Jason, Just give the word and that small Italian (inside really Mexican) man is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :domotwak: The car is already packed up with the warm vanilla bean lotion, pink furry handcuffs, zebra leg irons, mango flavored belly chain, Rick-a-like prosthetic boy toy (specially made by Chris) for Jason and used only on/by Jason, sound proof wild cherry flavored ball gag, nipple clamps, special Italian hairy as a wild Bambo razor set with sour cream and chives edge shaving cream. Actually maybe I'll stay home alone tonight and drive out there tomorrow:dribble:
Jason...plug your Predator in and check the version. It will say once you boot it up. I came over a SECOND time and we installed 17. We installed 16a when you first got it....then 17 later.
Jason has 17. We installed 18 and later the same day 16a. I had Chris email 17 to me a couple weeks later and I came over and installed it!
Rick was CORRECT! OK. Here's the deal. I followed Rick's advice. I have 17 installed currently. Therefore, 17 was running when I ran into the problem, which was: "OK. I have the Predator with 91 CAI tune. Update 16a. I bumped my shift points up by 300 when first installed, no problems... until tonight! In autostick, the shifts are lurching, almost like the gears aren't catching kind of like a jerking motion, hesitant almost, then it shifts then its fine. This happens at WOT at/near redline, in autostick for gears 1-3, maybe beyond, but I haven't pushed it. Then the yellow indicator light in the lower left of the dash (near fuel tank level) goes on and it looks like a little transmission. That goes on during the hesitation, then off when the shift is complete." So, I plugged in the predator. Checked my rev limits (all set at +300). Oddly enough, I noticed that there isn't a specific rev limit adjust for autostick. So, I remembered what Moe said, and I raised the fuel from 3% increase across the board, to 4% increase in the 4000+ rpm range. I left everything else the same. Then I remembered to check the codes via the predator. I did, and it said that there were no error codes logged. WTF?!?! So, test drive: 1st WOT in autostick, NO shift hesitation/studdering... BUT, that indicator light came on, and stayed on for about 10 seconds after I STOPPED at a red light. WTF?!?! THEN... 2nd WOT, no shift problems and no warning light. I don't know what that light is! I lost traction, but I've never seen that light before yesterday (and today). I also attempted to check the tranny fluid, but because our cars are SO high tech, there's no dip stick to check the tranny fluid level!!! Said so in the manual too. So, wizards of horsepower, what do you think was/is going on?!?!
See if "that little light" doesn't look more like an engine than a transmission. If you think "engine" when you look at it that should help.... Have you tried the "key dance" to display codes on the EVIC? If there are no codes are you sure it wasn't the ESP indicator that comes on when you lose traction and engage the ESP? Do you have a camera phone? What does +300 on the rev limiter mean? +300 from where? Is that from the stock rev limiter or from where it was set when you did raised shift points? Did you try it with the normal shift points and rev limiter?
