    Hello Everyone,
I'm coming out of a Lexus isF, which IMHO has one of the best auto trans in the market. The paddle shifters are awesome, but the trans will shift much faster on its own.

Now with that said, I'm looking at purchasing an SRT-8 Charger and wanted to know the pros and cons with the auto trans and the paddle shifters?
Not sure if there are any pros or cons as I haven't driven one intensively yet.

What I would like to know is how is the durability of this trans?
How is the up/down shift on this trans...is it precise in the sense there's no lag either way up/down?

I've also read about SRT-8 owners on these forums that have modified or added something (tranzformer/SHR?) to the trans...sorry, I'm not familiar with the SRT-8 Mods (modifications not to be confused with moderators) just yet...
What were the reasons for these mods...to handle more HP due to SC, or to improve the OEM trans for better performance with non FI?

Will there be an 8spd auto for 2013 in the Redline Charger? I know that one is for off road use only.

One last question for this post...can someone direct me to some mod links for this car, so I can see what is available out there?
I assume the same mods would work on the Challenger as well...that's my other option should the auto trans NOT be sufficient for this car.

The trans has proven itself to be top notch over the last 7 yrs.....holds up well to around 550rwhp before needing upgrades....

Shifting is a little slow in the 06-10 models but has improved greatly in the 12s.......several low cost mods that can change the shifts to kick in the back hard in 06-10s but not sure about a 12....

Visit the vendor section and check their web sites for mods available.

I added paddle shifters to my car. It did not change the shift firmness nor the speed between shifts. What I have found is that shifts tend to speed up, and firm up, as throttle pressure increases.

There isn't a lot out there in the aftermarket for the new cars yet. That's just the way it is. I remember buying my 300 and then waiting for stuff to come out. Eventually some good stuff became available and I was a happy modder.

An intake and exhaust will certainly be available. A programmer is not as CJD encrypted the computer software. I understand some firms are working on it but as you'd expect, it is a slow process.

Wheels, springs or coilovers, swaybars, audio should be available by now but I haven't checked all the offerings. I'm kinda focused on modding my MegaCab truck right now.

So good luck with the mods!

Thank you for the update info in regards to the tranny...not looking to purchase any mods just yet for the tranny, just trying to understand what mods there are and what they will do.
Mahalo also for directing me (I think) to the Mod God links where your bank acct is the ultimate sacrifice!

Yeah I don't expect to see much for the new models just yet, but would like to know where to look in the future when the goodies start to multiply.
I'd probably start with the exhaust system and go from there with the engine being the last. As for the suspension, it will be interesting to see what comes out since the 2012 has some kind of electronic adjustment when pressing the Sport mode.
However, with all of that said, I still need to acclimate myself with the car before doing mods of any kind. I need to know what the car and I can do together as it is in the stock OEM form, and be sure I can control it. Kind of like breaking in a wild horse before putting a saddle on it...hehehe...this will be fun!
    Mahalo!!
