Taking my ride to Arrington early next year for a CAM upgrade. I'm looking at the new SR-2B for my stock 6.1 motor. I'm sure someone already bought this CAM. Any feedback?
I was the street beta tester for that cam....If you look on Arrington's Shop Hemi online site click on cams and you will get a description and 2 dyno sheets. The 6.1 is mine. I picked up 40RWHP and 20LBs TQ with stock heads. The other dyno is from a RT Magnum. He was a beta tester also. Our cams were installed at the same time. You can expect to pick up a few more horses than me. The best outcome for the 5.7 is the power curve....look at how the stock cam starts dying above 5K RPM....the SR2 keeps making power to 6K +...
Thanks for moving this thread. Guess I got a little confused. Thanks for the info. Has the idle of this cam? I do want a nice power gain, but I also want a nice lope to go with it.
Slight lope to it....enough that people will ask if you have a high lift cam....hear that question all the time....
I'm taking my ride to Arrington next week for the SR-2B cam, plus their new catch can. Looking forward to it.
You are going to enjoy your visit....their shop tour is like a modern mopar muscle car show.....if you are staying overnight stay at the Jameson Inn....very nice plus discounts for Arrington customers...
That is the exact plan. Drop off around 7am, hang out at the Jameson Inn, and tour the facility the next day. It's going to be a fun drive home.
Didnt Arrington mention the break in for the SR2 cam?.....you cant get over 3K RPM for 500 miles....but it is worth it.... ....JK...:shifty:.......You are going to love this cam but drive around Martinsville for about an hour to make sure the tune is good....Mine ran great when I test drove it but after 20 miles I had some minor issues....but I videoed my A/F gauge and Arrington emailed an upgraded tune and fixed the problem........of course I was the first 6.1 to drive this cam on the street so I would assume they have got the tune down right based on my feedback..
Good idea. I think I will do some local sightseeing before hitting the road home. I hope they perfected the tune by now.
Dynoed at 348rwhp before the install and now I'm at 391rwhp with the cam. Pretty good power as soon as I touch the gas pedal and I felt it throughout all the gears. Sounds nice and I love the shaking when stationary. Hell, I turn off the radio and just listen to the car rumble. This was the cam for me.
Sounds like a strong cam. Can you post Dino run? I would like to see HP/TQ curve. .. Sent from NS1iPad using Tapatalk
My dino sheet is posted on Arrington's site as I was a beta tester for this cam...there is a graph for a 5.7 and a 6.1......the 6.1 is mine... http://www.shophemi.com/p-2139-arrington-sr-2b-camshafts.aspx ..
Here ya go. I dynoed pretty low stock but I've heard of people dynoing lower. I'm happy but I should have added a 85mm TB and headers to the list. Here's a quick video I did with my phone. I'll take a better one later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOwQbeULpFE
I have a Blastin Bobs 11db reso delete kit and the suitcase replaced with super 40s custom flowmaster mufflers.
I was told that my numbers could have been low because of the staggered setup of 20" vipers I'm running. Could have lost over 10hp from it. I don't know if that's true but I plan to dyno again with a different wheel on the rear.
