Alright, time for another update. I'm still in limbo, but I'll take it over rejection letters.
    • Got my second rejection email, this time from Pixar two weeks after I applied for an open Project Coordinator position there. Didn't figure I'd get it, so no huge deal.
    • The hiring manager for the job I thought I'd start last week took this week off without getting back to my recruiter, so I may have an interview as soon as Monday or Tuesday.
    • The hiring manager for the recruiter from the big big data company I applied with on my own has not responded yet, so I'm still on hold for that one. Luckily I made a good impression with the recruiter so maybe there's hope there.
    • I applied for a job at another big Silicon Valley company at the suggestion of a friend who works there. Referral bonuses are good motivation, right? So waiting to hear if they actually want to talk to me.
    • Also heard from a recruiter I met at SpringFest looking to help and heard back from a recruiter out of San Francisco that's still looking but doesn't currently have any project coordinator work for me yet.
Aside from all that, still searching for jobs, filling out applications, updating, tweaking and submitting resumes and cover letters as well as reading and practicing for some of the specific knowledge areas that are sought after but weren't specifically covered in my coursework.

Another rejection email, plus the "hot job" in Walnut Creek appears to have evaporated. Applying to at least two jobs a day now. If you hear of a job or job openings, I will be happy to list you as my referral when I apply.

Things are looking up for the moment. Contacted by two recruiters in the past two business days for two jobs I'm well qualified for that are at or above my pay range. Now to see if either actually goes somewhere.

Couple of leads picked up this week, plus some new recruiters for me to pester. Figure I won't hear anything until next Wednesday if I do hear anything, so the job hunt continues apace. Thanks again for all the suggestions and support. And if you hear of any job openings, I'm open to all possibilities at this point.

Long weekend meant not a lot of activity on this front, but I did get all our office/work stuff consolidated and threw out some more stuff. I'll keep updating this thread until I actually land something.

Got an interview tomorrow (a real one), and potentially a couple of interviews next week.

I've had several (if you count all the recruiters) screening calls. But no real (in-person) interviews until this one.

The bad news is, the job I interviewed for today has already been filled.

The good news is the manager who interviewed me thinks I could be a good fit for a developer position. So I've been tasked with learning some perl and going back for a SECOND interview in a couple of weeks. :dance4:

Okay, I'm not feeling so bad about yesterday's interview now. I went in to interview for an analyst position, but they were interviewing me for a developer position. I was blindsided by the database test and database questions, but I managed to recover and impress the guy enough he wanted a second interview. Though it might've been nice to have a heads up beforehand, I guess that was all part of the test.

    Monday update:

Had an interview scheduled for today but one of the interviewers called in sick. So that interview is bumped to Wednesday morning. Also scheduled my follow-up interview for the company I interviewed with on Friday for two weeks from today. In the meantime trying to learn as much about perl, php, and MySQL as possible.

I know I've got interviews happening, but that's no guarantee I'll be employed any time soon. If you hear of any work or opportunities, please consider me or drop me a line.

To give you an idea, I'm interviewing for a analytics developer job, a data analyst position, and possibly for an office manager job. I learn fast and I'm adaptable AND driven.

Okay, interviews went great this morning. Just have to see if I'm the one they want. Could potentially start work next week.
