I have and still use the recommended mobile 1.

    1) still under the extended maintenance contract and that's what the dealer puts in.
    2) it's good oil
    3) it's what the engineers speced for our engines
    4) Blackstone labs oil analysis every oil change shows that the engine is doing really really well with it and that I could extend my change interval significantly.
    5) Considering the relative cost of other oils I would not consider changing to cheaper oil to save money (if I was paying for it).
    6) I would not consider any other oil that might (or might not) be better since I haven't seen any real evidence that any of the others are significantly better or have some other advantage. -- the downside risk seems much larger than any maybe incremental advantage or possibly very small increase in engine life.
    7) I do on occassion get some small amount of engine whine in the summer. When I start buying my own oil I might consider 5w/50 mobile 1 but probably not.

Mobile 1 15-50, less whine, higher temp protection with the blower, and it doesn't get cold enough in so-cal to really need the 0 weight.

i used mobile one forever....... one thing i notice with the mobile one is that it darkened quickly with my blower. i have recently changed over to rotella heavy duty oil 5w-40 on the recommendations of some very well respected lx experts. i will let you know my thoughts after a few miles.
