I didn't get as many as I'd have liked, but I was also enjoying myself sharing all the fun with my mom and my daughter.

We took I-5 straight down in a mini-caravan with rsmeanie (Raymond). I was in the lead like usual. It took us six hours of drive time plus an hour stop off for breakfast and gas at Lost Hills. Madeline rode all the way down in her pajamas and both of them were snoring in the backseat as I was driving down.

We had this view from our hotel room. Madeline kept pointing out all the different colors. :)

bandaid (Roger) from ALX was kind enough to bring Madeline the BIGGEST stuffed animal he could find. It was love at first site.

We went to Beach Burger, but by that time Madeline was cranky, so no time for pics.

The next morning, I hauled the ladies up to Anaheim to go to Disneyland with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, then headed out to the USW luncheon.

Got back to the hotel to find MORE cars. :)

After getting some dinner from the downstairs BBQ, I got ready and headed over to the Chrysler pre-party. Bumped into Ralph Gilles as well as a lot of friends. Helped Ron introduce Frederick to Ralph. Apparently Ralph likes my shampoo, but that's a different story.

Got back to the hotel, had a couple of beers, ended up talking to a guy from San Diego about our Alabama roots. Shut down the hotel bar, went up stairs, spent an hour telling Mom all about everything, slept two hours, then got up to go to Cars and Coffee with the Chrysler entourage. Managed to get a ride in FatChance 2.0. For all the times C&C would snub our cars, we got the red carpet treatment with our own roped off area and dozens of photographers coming up to check out the new cars.

John gave me a ride back to the hotel where I got Madeline and Mom out the door and gave Paul (IMMO) a ride to the SpringFest. Got lost like usual, but eventually lead a group of other lost people onto the grounds, got parked out in front (see that video of Ron helping me park) of show car row. Gave an interview for PentastarVideo (also in video). Walked around a bit with Mom and Madeline, managed a few pictures.

Then we had lunch and I tried the Challenge and did miserably.

1:14 my first run, 1:13 my second run (Frederick paid for both of those). Steve gave me a ride in the V6 that added years to my life, and Mom dug out $10 from the bottom of the purse, so I ran a third time and managed 1:07.

I felt like a rockstar walking out to see Madeline cheering me on and so happy for me. Picked her up and her pants were wet. I felt awful about it, so we headed back to the hotel without talking to Samuel Hubinette or Ralph signing my car.

Still, Madeline shouting "Go, Mommy Go!" and going gaga as the Drift Challenger drove past pretty much made my weekend and then some.

Saturday night, we got dressed up and went out with the usual suspects, had a great dinner, had a beer before bed (Thanks, Frederick), got up the next morning, stuffed the Charger like a Christmas goose and drove home.

Truly an awesome weekend and we're already making plans for next year. That and I have the itch to get back on the track soon.

I also managed to make several good contacts with job opportunities, so who knows, might even score a job out of all this.

So now I'm going silent for a bit to finish up my last two weeks of school. Looking forward to a great year and going back to SF in 2012.

    -Tam
