I finally had time to take my Jeep over to the Kenne Bell magician Adam @ST Performance. After review of the system Adam got to work. As usual Adam begins to build the tune conservatively and then started his real work. We installed the optional 8lb maggie pulley and fed the 426 Shell 91 octane and on a streetable pump gas tune Adam was able to coax 575hp/539ft lbs of torque. The actual boost was 7.9lbs which surprised us all.

After adding 5 gallons of VP109 he began to build a race tune that finally yielded an impressive 613hp/582ft lbs!

After he moves into his larger remodeled shop next week he is going to install larger injectors and an ATI 17% over drive which should put the street tune into the 600 mark while pushing the race tune into the mid 600's.

The end result is a smooth idling, smog legal (if required) bolt on supercharger! Oh yea......and it runs liked a scaled ape!

Damn, that curve is smooth as silk, Steve. Very impressive.

I would have figured more torque out of the blower, but still respectable and impressive.

I really need to get my fuel system and tune finished. lol

    Give me a call later.

    Thanks Nate

I thought it should have higher torque numbers as well but it is what it is. I am happy overall with the fact that it runs so strong and it is SOOO driveable.

It does even look lke the torque comes on a little higher up than I have seen.

That is about even with mine. My torque hits immediately and peaks out right at 4K.

With Steve graph, it may also be in conjunction with his cam? All in all, Adam did an amazing job with the tune. The curve is steady and fast. No lost power in that tune.

I did notice the A/F sits right on the 12 line... Going a little high on the A/F???

Without a doubt is a beautiful curve from the tune. I will be seeing Adam soon.

I guess it IS nice to have 400RWTQ at 3300 RPM.
Looking at the graph...Do you have to be real "soft on the pedal" during that short range from 3000-3250 RPM when the TQ/HP goes x2 in power? Is this where we might say the S/C is going in "Boost Mode?

Is this also based on the warning about driving a super charged car is sometimes finding yourself sideways when turning a corner.

Unless you have tires that give traction, yes, it is a good idea to soft peddle the car during low range RPM's or things can get fun, er scary, er fun... lol

The street tune was built on the safe side(575/539) so it will survive my big foot and 91 octane...lol!

The driving characteristics are far from a Paxton/Vortech, at least on the Jeep. I drove a few Jeeps with the Paxton and Vortech and they were like an over modded 2 stroke. The acceleration was violent and it all came on at once. They have improved but it is still a complaint share on the Jeep forum. The Maggie is smooth and linear but press to hard and it will stretch the arms.

Thanks.....it is a kick in the ass!

Sitting in the garage......contemplating selling it as a complete unit.

    Thanks Flex!

    Thanks!

Tell them to change the stinking BOV. Especially the high boost guys (over 8psi). But yea, I can confirm that from experience, Steve. The Twin/Roots is the way to go. And yes, I am still thinking about switching to the Maggie.

Very nice Steve and after all you have been through with that jeep it's your just dues finally being paid!!!! I was impressed with the first comfirmed maggie only jeep running 11.66 friday on a pretty weak tune with 93 pump gas no telling what you will come back with timeslip wise. I fear now your biggest enemy will be traction that maggie hits sooner than later. Also, remember the stoich values for the VP109 are different than the 91/93 pump gas it apparently likes to run a bit richer due to the very high oxygen content I've trapped my best mph fattening up the VP109 tune and trapped 110mph with basically a tuned only jeep.
