Thats just a rotating assembly....you will still need all the machine work on the block, balancing and assembly....unless you are doing it yourself you might want to look into a short block.

Pretty sure you can do a K-1 crank and rods with Wiseco pistons for just a hair under 2k with bearings and rings.

Whoops.....that was a forged 6.1.....looks like the prices went up on the 426 stuff. They are all about the same price now.

^^^ yup, heard of them, but never any experience with them, hence, no answer.

I got my 4.090 x 4.050 426cui stroker rotating assembly direct from Callies. Mahle piston, Compstar crank and rods... Paid just about what you paid from LMS

My appologies Jim. I have no experience with their rotating assemblies, so no input. But I have seen their original head work and it wasn't very good. But I know they learned from their mistake and are correcting the parts too.

Right on Jim, whatta ya do if you don't mind me asking. Which springs and at what pressure did you install them at. Did you use locators or the stock dampers??. Sorry for all the questions, I got a thing for dialing in heads.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH the rest of you STFU!. :eek:oh:

The issue here was not that anybody has (or had) a 426 but no one has built one from a purchased rotating assymbly.
If you have access to a good machne shop (that has the proper machines for engine rebuilding) that will do the work for a good price, then it is the most affordable way to go.

The biggest pia here is ring gapping. There is a science to this also.
It is the 1 part of building an enigne that I hated.

File to fit...fun fun! If you are properly set up, it's not a big deal. With a hand turned wheel, it's a bear. I've been that guy...built a short block in one night, assembled the pistons, filing the rings (by hand) and installing the rotating assembly in the block....began with the sun up, ended with the sunrise.
