So I fly out on the 7th next week to pick up Johan's car. And I CAN'T STOP thinking about the mods, lol. I'm such a damn nerd. I've got things all mapped out.
While I'm there, I'm picking up a full underhood kit from Billet Technology, in black anodized. When I get back, I'll be ordering a black ABS cover & coolant tank from Show & Performance. She's got an appointment for Monday the 13th, to get the grille, roof, and mirrors painted gloss black. Hotchkis swaybars & Bwoody links MAY also be in the mix.
But here's what I REALLY WANT to finish off the look. I'm trying to fit this in the budget, but I dunno. I want these with the machined face, and black gloss windows, BAD. It will really finish off the silver/black theme I intend to put on the car.

Anyway, needless to say, I'm REALLY looking forward to the acquisition!!! Looking forward to meeting Johan, Scott, Heidi, and Chris! :) If anyone has any ideas on how to cure my anticipation (other than lots of beer, which I've consumed while coming up with my initial plans) please let me know. I'm finding it hard to sleep at night. :)

Chase, can't give any advice, other than sending me the srt and let me get consumed by it. I'm sure we all know what your going through bud, but the more you think about it, the longer it will take. Like me, you've gotten all written down and outta your head, so leave it there and continue to hit some hard liquor until that day comes. I guarantee that you won't remember a thing till then. Keep in touch and have fun meeting up with the pillow biter screws....um...crew.

We are about 15 minutes from BT, so you can swing by on your way north. Let me know if there is anything you want for the new ride, it will save you on shipping if you pick it up when you are here!!

Hmmmmmm.....Hotchkis swaybars?? And an unpainted horizontal Grip Grille (I'm positive I'll need this, I'm repainting the grille and the one currently on the car is chrome :( )?? PM me prices on those, pretty please!! Not saying I will, but as of Monday, ALL MY budget falls into place, and I'll know how much exactly I have to spend, so it will help me to know how much your prices are, so I can figure it ahead of time. And these are on my radar big time. Either way, I'll probably swing by just to meet the notorious crew!!!! :D I'm fixin to mapquest the trip right now, lol.

JUST GOT HOME. I pulled into the driveway today at 2:30. She's washed. Debadged. Demolded. Getting ready to start the full paint correction, and install a few BT parts. Option5 wheels are ordered as well. I'll start a "progress" thread tomorrow. I'm only in for a few minutes to eat and rest, then back down to the garage. Probably won't finish till about 2am or so......I'll post up tomorrow boys and girls.

    Option Fives...

    Chase,

How are you planning on doing the 2 tone scheme on the wheels? I only ask because when I ordered mine I had the same plan for color scheme, but found out that because they already have a clear sealer on the silver finish, it was a little dicey opting to change the color. (To paint the wheel and prep the area to be painted, the shop told me that it would have to "breach" the clear coat, which could rear its head in other delaminating ways down the road)

And Option 5 doesn't recommend powder coating when it comes right down to it, because they heat cycle the cast wheels and it can embrittle them, which can make them weaker and subject to fatigue cracking over hard driving...With your mods, just be aware of that. So, for me, because the color scheme would have had to be painted (not powder coated) on the wheels (and very carefully so at additional cost also), I opted to stick with the factory finish.

That being said, I still hope you do it so I can see what it turns out like....just looking out for another member, that is all.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks bro, good looking out!
Number one, I have an award-winning, magazine-production shop working on my car.
Number two, they sanded & primed the hell out of the wheels.
Number three, we're just doing paint, NOT powder coat.
