Best of luck Jimmy, i have never picked up that habit...NEVER will. It actually makes me sick just to smell it. Headache, upset stomach, eyes water, sinuses plug up...seems crazy to me that they can sell them at all.
Both of my parents smoked growing up, in the house, in the car, in my face,... constantly!!! The smell is atrocious.

I'de just soon smoke a dog turd.

Saweet!!!! Just gotta stick to that....and don't turn back. This letting out treatment is helping, so it's an idea for you. Sometimes it better to talk over the phone for support too. Keep us posted.

What about just going for a ride. It's been helping me lately and something I love to do to keep my mind of things. Stress is a bitch when it comes to cravings and boredom. But, there's gotta be a way....

Seems to work out that wat, maybe a good time to remind her. Man 3 packs a day, back then there wasn't filters. My friend died from lung cancer a few years ago, smoking 4 packs a day, camels. He knew it was killing him, but his addiction got the better of him. Scary.

Yeah, that would suck being around it like that. See people like that, but would never put my boys through that torture. If you knew me before I started, you would know how much against it I was. I guess I was young and stupid and ah....that other cig did the talking...peace love and happiness!!!

    They killed killer, B!!!!!

Keep in there, when I quit I found that it was the situations that commanded me to smoke, small rituals in my everyday life.
And I had cravings for that morning cigarette for years...
Today I basically only smoke when I ride my bike, really stupid but its just then.
Good luck and try and identify those situations and stear clear!

I'm trying the e-cigs myself right now. Not sure if I got the best brand but they do work suprisingly well. I don't even think of the real ones if I have the e-cigs on hand. And you can step down the nicotine content to 0mg and eventually quit.

I applaude your deciding to quit. One of the worse mistakes I ever made was starting. Stick with it. It will pay off.

Fred, thanks bro! It is all routine, like my morning square, after eating, a brew, etc... I've been dealing with it pretty good, my wife is my support, but neither of us is really bringing it up. Only occasionally and not like previous attempts. At the end if the day we both go over our day and list reasons why we have to quit. I'm at the right mind set this time. All other attempts, I would have used any excuse just to have a check, then a pack. Btw, ritual square before a bike ride Is an excuse, but you know that and as long as it doesn't lead to more.

I hope it helps you to stop. I can't risk trying to cut down to quit. To easy for me to start back up. Good luck!

    Um....aka, Dookie.....speaks for itself...lol. A big fat Dookie roll.

Unfortunately meds have different effects on everyone. Just didn't like the depression, sucked!!! Good for you, hope to say the same.

Day 4, yesterday was a test. Took my boys out for last minute school supplies and dinner. Boy I could of used one during. Kids were all over the isles and were loud at the rest. Put them in check both times, but activated need. Neck was stiff, knots were killing me, but no...

Day 5, still thinking about morning square, but keep telling myself. Going to take kids out, should be good. Keep ya posted.

Go read this book "Stop smoking the easy way by allen carr"

I quit cold turkey no withdrawls, no cravings, nothing. Biggest realization is you handle nicotine withdrawls every night while you sleep, so its not the physical side driving you nuts its that you have mind fucked yourself with the cigs.

I know it's in my head.... I'm doing great considering. I have my moments, then realize the truth. I will be smoke free.

Start adding up $$$ saved to be used for mods.......I quit smoking in 85 and started dipping Copenhagen....took care of the nic fits........years later I discovered the Copenhagen was harder to quit that cigs....I finally quit tobacco completely in Nov 05..

I had a Charger RT and wanted to trade for an SRT8....the increase in monthly payment was about equal to the cost of my 1.5 cans of Copenhagan per day......incentive to quit....:)

I've been thinking about the savings. About $8 per pack, last we were averaging 1 1/2 packs per day between the two of us. $12 x 7 = $84 per week, $336 per month and $4,368 per year. Yeah enough money to play with or save for the kids. Thanks for reminding me. Btw, that sucks that you thought you were doing better, to find out you were doing worse. Lol. I'm glad you quit as well. Congrats bro!

Now day 6 and my wife and I are feeling great.

Thanks Fred!!! I kinda feel retarded doing the thread, but like many of you know. Been here and done that and still smoking.... This is the first time I've gotten this far with the right mind set. It's like they say, "you have to want to quit."

Lmao too!!! Moving on to day 10 and have had my moments of weakness, but got through it. Still smoke free and still a prick at times. Been finding that I'm eating more, hmmm.... Which is good for me, since I can't gain weight.
