http://www.leftlanenews.com/jeep-grand-cherokee-srt8.html as if you LX guys didnt hate us already:shifty:
Im sure the body will change and most likely just a mule for the engine but the brakes are definately upgraded
It also looks like it may have longer runners (ie better torque) and that throat in the front seems like it may act as a venturi before entering into the runners...I hope the new 6.4L TB is at least 90mm and remains inexpensive. Will be nice for a cheap upgrade.
I think the Jeep engineer is dyslexic... They finally got the air cleaner on the right side so the Jeep guys don't get confused looking at pics of other SRT8s but now they got the washer and radiator bottles switched. They're going to have problems when those guys put windshield washer fluid in the radiator.
Fixed for ya Dave:friends:but us Jeep owners dont put windshield washer fluid in our radiators but if thats what you LX guys do then go for it!!
I like that intake manifold. It's nice that they finally got the red-headed stepchild's intake on the driver's side too. Probably has more to do with the manifold "neck" than anything. That way they'll only need one manifold for all 4 SRT8 models.
There is only one manifold for all the SRT8's already. The reason the intake went opposite of the LX models was the Jeep was not originally slated for the program. It was added in 06 and they were locked in to the regular Grand Cherokee setup. It was too late to redesign at that point. This info came from the SRT engineers at the LX nationals!!
^^^^True, but really to piss of the LX owners-LOL, I mean some guys junk leans to the left the other to the right and some...well just dont lean.
ya i dont think that this is going to be the REAL new SRT...rims havent changed...body of the car doesnt look that aggresive..front end doesnt have that mean look...im not sure if thats the real srt8...im with what that other guy said...i think its the limited
to me it looks like they just took the rims off an SRT and threw it on a new 2012 Limited GC. back end looks european. not really feeling it. i still like the older ones better.
The new Durango with a 6.4L would be sick have you guys seen that body...NICE!! http://www.leftlanenews.com/dodge-durango.html
Adam is well aware there is only one manifold for the current SRT8... as for the engine pictured if they didn't change the intake location on the NEW Jeep they would need two different manifolds since the neck points to the driver side of the vehicle not straight out like the current..........
One of the first things that attracted me to the SRT8 was the big ass raw aluminum manifold. Every car is plastic and hidden by stupid covers now days. I know plastic is better for heat transfer, but the current SRT manifold is just sexy... I honestly think it is the last of it's kind.
