Haha... there are just some words that are weird stoned or sober. Besides, little twit got high in my house when I'd had it all of two weeks. I was ready to kill him, but opted to mess with him. That's just what big sisters do.
WTF!? you've been spending so much time on the red site you've gone blind :dumb: http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14837 ...and yes, you CAN get it out of park with a screwdriver. Unfortunately you have to lift off the plastic trim ring with your finger tips so they'll probably find you starved to death in your car because you weren't able to get to the grocery store.
Replacing mine soon...hasn't broken or anything, but for once i'm go to be proactive and fix it before it breaks. Need an oil change soon, and plan a beer and car day soon. FWIW...when i read the title, i instantly thought of Maureen...:bigwink:
I can't understand this... some of you have the replacement part already and you are just waiting for the OEM piece to break???? Why did you spend the money for it??? Replace the damn thing already... you know it is going to break... why get upset when it does... Take an hour out of your day and swap it out... then you will NEVER have to worry about it, get a headache or anything... \ Plus you know it is going to break at the worst time ever....
LOL. Ron, Ron...are you ok? Sheeesh Maureen. I always enjoy laughing at my own misfortunes so I may as well enjoy others also Dave, I looked at your write-up, which is the best out there BTW, and see the pink dead battery manual override button you can access by removing the change cubby on the console. You mention that it will not work if the spring is detached...I am assuming you mean by the true pink thingy breaking it's tab off. This means that if the pink shifter thingy breaks, like many have, that the manual dead-battery button is useless, and you would have to take your console apart. Right? This is what I was thinking about earlier in this thread.
Just HAVING the part relieves most of the stress Besides, one guy DID have it happen right there in his garage. and if you just drive to work and back it's 50/50 your's will break there too.
ummm, no. You actually have to read the text... I think I started out with an explanation of the two different lockout systems (and how the cubby pink thing is for when you're locked out due to lack of electrical power). Then about half way through, where I remove the trim piece around the shifter (can be done with finger tips) I got arrows and an explanation of how to jiggle the cable with a screw driver to get it out of park one time. All you have to remove is the plastic chrome trim ring to access it.
yes and no... No the dead battery button will not work because the spring is off the other pink thingy inside the console... when you press down the the dead battery pink thing... it moves the one inside the shifter... Yes... the bad pink thingy inside the shifter can be moved with a long thin screw driver... you will need to remove the chrome ring around the shifter, the side pocket next to the shifter and then wedge the screw driver into the shifter console itself... then you can move that pink thingy... some people have even done more damage to the inside of the shifter and had to buy a new one... So if you have the piece or a cotter pin and a drill... take the damn thing apart and change it out now...
Just make sure your cell phone is charged. You can call Ron's pink thing and she will come and fix it for you.:rofl: (Don't worry, Maureen didn't hear that 'cause she's out killing cajuns at the moment)
Agree, my replacement just arrived today...Wasn't from BT though (Sorry Scott :crying:, i'm a broke dick)
THANKS GUYS! I read this a few days ago and thought maybe I should go ahead and order a few and sure enough...The charger won't come out of park today...
You only need one of the BT thingies -- it should last forever  ...and what happened? did you get it out of park?
I need one for the charger now and I figure I'll change the Magnums out now since I'm doing it. The charger is still at work though. Gonna go get it tomorrow.
