Have you heard of this place called Ebay? They sell almost anything.

You should really PM him if you are going to post another forum for a link.

Sorry pal. Thanks for the heads up. Different rules for different forums. I fixed my post and will not make the same mistake again.:dumb:

Not sure what kind of antenna the jeeps come with, or what you are looking for. But, when I went to a shorty antenna on my neon, I just unscrewed the stock metal one. Pulled the ball off the tip, cut it down to the size I wanted. Filed the new tip to fit back in the ball. Then crazy glued the ball back on...viola shorty antenna. I even painted mine black 'cause I didn't want the silver. Took like 10 min.

What. We don't mind. We all know there are other forums. It's not like it's a secret. We know you're here because you want to be :D . We don't condone advertising for non-supporting vendors when the intent is just to advertise, but that doesn't directly have anything to do with links.

err, it probably didn't work so well after that... Wouldn't matter if all the signals/stations you're interested in are strong ones. An antenna, ideally, should be a full or 1/2 wavelength long. Like those really long whips you see. Otherwise you need a "load" to electrically simulate the length. A real shorty antenna will have some coil at the bottom or built in that does this. Just whacking your long antenna can work, but not as well as a proper one for less strong signals.

Thanks Quick! I'm certainly not trying to take business away from anyone here. But I got Cmn1's point.

A buddy of mine just completely removed his antenna and had a body shop fill in the hole. IMO, that looks really nice. It is a costly alternative though. Depending on the shop you use, it cost him like 400 bucks I think. But it do look nice! He ended up using a antenna amplifier that mounts by the rear view mirror, inside the cab.

I am so used to getting warned and banned about any link or posting of helpful info on the cherokee site, I am a little gun shy about people posting thread to other forums but now I know. Thanks

Yep. Link away, pretty much any site you want. No sites that are illegal. If it's X or R rated then confine your links to our X or R rated forums.
Some sites like the Red sites maybe should be illegal but they haven't legislated against stupid yet :)

I guess tat depends on personal taste. Yes the reception is worse than when it stuck up 4' in the air. But I have no problem getting the stations I listen to...some of the weaker ones can be somewhat in-out depending on where I am. Probably related to the fact that I went EXTREMELY short...like 3" tall. It may not be as bad if you are only chopping off 4-6", IDK. However, all things considered I don't regret it, and it was a perfect fix for me. I was just trying to give options to the OP.

No, I was just pointing out that it can effect reception. If the stations that you listen to have a strong signal where you are then it probably isn't going to make any difference. If it were me, I'd whack the stock one first and see how it goes. If it doesn't work then I'd try a designed/loaded shorty. More saying that if you do cut down the stock one and it doesn't work don't assume that a store bought one won't work either.
