tried calling predator but was on hold forever, found a thread about it on their forum though and asked about what to do next. Looks like the r23 doesn't work with the older cars...

Any idea when the last time the dealer flashed your PCM? If you don't have the absolute lates (very doubtful) Calid, just put the predator back to r12. As far as I know there is nothing since then that would effect your car and r12 is working fine for thousands :).

Mike came over yesterday. What I found was that no matter which canned tune is used, it will not recognize the modification to the tune. There is obviously a software bug that Diablo should research and FIX.

Mike, do as Quick recommends and down grade the firmware to r12. This should allow your settings to take.

I had similar issue with CMR tune adjustments...check your cal id...if it ends in AE, you need an update. Johan said they use to support the AE cal, but not fully, and kinda dropped it and made people go get the latest cal id ending in AF...I went to dealer and got an update and all goes well...Plus i updated to CROM R23..(note, my care is early 06 build date 06 model) no real difference in the two CROM's, Johan said the only difference is the R23 does a diagnostic check before uploading, which takes longer to do...but the CROM's are virtually identical.

Errrr, ummm, careful... I can't remember if it's just for the 5.7s maybe or if DS has it covered now or what but... There was some rather recent CALID update that was NOT supported by DS. Not hardly anybody that I know of got it but it was the latest. Maybe it's for a particular problem only and if you don't report symptoms then you don't get it or maybe it was regional having to do with cold weather or something.

In short, I would not go to the dealer and just say "update me to the latest PCM flash". Might want to find out what calid you want first.

it's the only cal id that ends AF (according to mike and johan) I asked for this update, they hooked up my car, said i did need an update and yes, it ended in AF...i said let er rip...plus they had other updates for the TCM and shift hesitation plus a sunroof BS thing...I had them all done...Loaded Crom r23 and never looked back since. Everything works like it should, and no more error validation shit either.

Well yea, all the ones I've seen the last 2 letters will identify a calid for a car. It's just that I *think* there was something after that maybe. So if you check for ...AF then you'd be fine.

I believe I'm still running AE 'cause there wasn't anything for the SRTs (at least that I'd need) after that and there haven't been any DS tune improvements for the SRT8s after r12 ... well, maybe some tweaks but I'm running my old RDP tune.

I guess there are more of these "error validating files" and they are working on it. Mike told me to wait and let them fix it. now how long will it take?
